Having trouble getting this to load up...couldn’t be the fact that I’m currently in a cornfield a thousand miles from nowhere

I like to keep clarity & definition... but like a little "push" behind it. The Thunderbird does the rest of the work

I'm still working on what to do with the sound of my StingRay. The quality of the sounds it produces, is remarkable! I've just been enjoying a Gibson/Thunderbird state of mind for a while... and this ain't that! I'm a little lost with where to go with it...

Your tone description sounds like what I’m into. Stingrays are one of those things that sound much better in someone else’s hands than mine. I love the gist, but need some chest thump too

Really, I don't read music well, don't practice enough to be very good, and never quite get anything nailed down as well as it should be. My son reads fluently, can improvise off a chart he has never seen before, transposes in his head on the fly, and generally does things with his trumpet that boggle my mind. I'm a day job type who has fun with music. He's the real thing.

I appreciate what you're saying, but I'm still giving you the title of "Musican", but adding, "Who's Proud of His Son"

As for the rest of it... a lotta the guys I listen to, couldn't read words... much less music... have never seen a "chart" or know what one is, and would look at you like , at the mere mention of the word "transpose". Whatever makes us musicians, comes from inside... and YOU have it in spades... whether ya like it or not

What is it about the Ray you are grappling with? Bright? Hifi?

Both of those, and the fact that The Thunderbird is what taught me that there's a whole world of greatness that lives in between the "highs" knob, and the "lows" knob on the EQ. This translates very differently through the Music Man & it's fancy high-falootin' eeelectonical system. I'll get there. It'll just take a while. I haven't really been able to spend a whole lotta time with it yet either. Been a li'l busy as of late...
