Or you may find the strings need to be removed and placed on a bass that doesn't require such nonsense to make an acceptable noise.

EDIT: Yes I own a StingRay, an elderly one with obsolete alnico pickup and 2 band EQ. Am I allowed to comment or do I have to own the exact model...and why would I do that?

The Blackfinger comes highly recommended. I've been waiting for a "deal I can't refuse" to drop in my lap...

The Diamond went a long way towards taming the brighter, more hifi and frankly 'ganky' aspects of the Italia. In the end, selling the bass meant I don't have to worry about it any more. I realise the Ray is a gift and that's a whole different scenario.

One thing I'm gonna do, is put flats on it (it just looks silly wearing heels this time of year :cigar:)
 
That's a steal man! Could you pick it up on your way back home & save yourself some shipping (as well as insuring a safe journey home)?

That would work if it were anywhere near my way home :/
Shipping does scare me though
