Just shootin' the sh!t really -- not going to be buying one. Don't have enuff of the requisite shaped electrons in my bank account. That did set me off looking at Tele Thinlines and the discovery that Fneder recently made a Thinline with P90s! World turned upside down.

Is this the model @kat888 ? This is the sig model for the singer of local band Jimmy Eat World. Pickups and control layout seem very Gibson-ish to me.

Modern Player Telecaster® Thinline Deluxe. It has a 6 saddle Fneder style bridge/tail and maple FB but otherwise looks near enough the same.

There's heavy traffic on the I-64 west of St Louis.

For about the last 40 years :)
Impressed you’d know that though!

A buddy has one. His is much nicer to look at than to listen to, sadly

Hhmmm... We've been so focussed on the Spector Gang, that we haven't been watching the mirror. Team Sadowski's making some noise back there :cautious:

That's a really old thread, it dates to 2007 and has several 1000 post parts to make it up. It's before your time here, we used to have to start a new thread after 1000 posts, thus club threads would have "Parts I II III etc. somehow, one of the moderators has combined all the previous "Parts" to make one very long, old thread. This thread has had 7, 1000 post "Parts" before an upgrade allowed them to just run on with no limit to number of pages.

Not to stereotype anyone, but I find it very hard to believe the Sadowsky people are nearly as much fun as this group. Thinking we’d win in a bar fight. Just sayin’

HAH!!! A paper tiger blowing around on the winds of circumstance!

"As you were, all. The Queen has been monitoring the situation, and assures me there is no threat!"

Probably more like the Visagoths sacking Rome........

Trust me, a Fender with P90s isn't the same sound as a Gibson with P90s. But it is better than a Fender with single coils IMHO. The Fender Blacktop Strat is a sweet sound for Fender as well and a decent price for the used ones if you can find one. The 5 way toggle on the Blacktop is so much better than the typical Strat. Probably my favorite of all the FSO guitars I have...
Fender Blacktop Stratocaster HH 2010 Black w/ Gator Hard Case
Note: I am predisposed to humbuckers over single coils, so that might taint my opinion a bit.

On a Thinline, I'd definitely prefer humbuckers. Sam Fish has a pretty decent custom built Thinline with humbuckers and it sings very nicely.

I'm sure I'll receive something other than praise from a number of you for this... but that Blacktop P-bass is the only Fender that tweaks my interest at all right now...
