If that gouge had been on the back I'd consider it but not at $1,200.

I had to order a custom one to get the length I wanted. You can spend hundreds on a custom strap!! I had no idea they could get out of hand so quickly. I think I spent around $100 shipped but I got a really long one.

The Franklin wide leather straps from GC are like 60 inches and help to keep the Bird from neckdiving. They aren't too bad of a price.

This is why i make my own straps from old leather belts. Length i want & need + inexpensive second life for the belts.

Larry, search GC's site for item # 110225269. It's a white Gibson w/case. Also they have Blackbird for around the same price, item # 110908414. Both under $1100 with a case. They look good from the pictures and you can have them shipped to your local GC and you aren't happy, full refund.

Does anyone have experience with the Ibanez Iceman? I was looking online and the wife goes that's really cool you should look at one of those.

Always loved the look of them but never owned one. Know a couple of guys that have/had them and loved them. According to them the neck dive is worse on those than on any TBird. Right deal ever comes along I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

Killer bass. Wears a little funny though, rear button is under the body lip so it kinda tilts forward.
No big deal you get used to it. Little bit of a diver, wide strap fixes it.

oh and it get a lot of compliments. Both from looks and tone, 3 band active eq with passive pups.

Looks like the blackbird has 3 knobs in the pic. Idk if $1100 is worth it.

Yes, I am 57. When I play in the band with my son (who is 22) it is great, except for the loading in and out and the stiff back the next day. But worth it.

I'm 53. The good thing is that as I get older amps and speakers get smaller and lighter. :) In the early 80s I had an Ampeg 8x10. I don't think I could even load it into my vehicle anymore....

Thanks for the input! Yeah they look pretty cool so I'll have to keep my eye out for a good deal.

So don't keep it a secret, Bryan, brag a little! Who is it/when/where?
Brian Thomas of legendary Halloween is doing acoustic sets with people he's played with over the last 33 years. He will have a house band all month of march @ token lounge. Shows will be on Wednesdays. We haven't set a date for our set, likeny end of the month as we haven't gotten together yet.

Ive been very luck to go up on stage and play bass with Halloween on 2 different occasions. I've loved this band since 1989. I've been even more fortunate to become good friends with Brian. Its cool to hear all the stories, the behind the scenes and so forth. Halloween has been around 30 some years, released many albums and to this say still are a big deal in Europe. Don't confuse with the German band HELLOWEEN
