He's not allowed* a Vespa. It would be suicide here anyway. Neither of us use personal internal combustion contraptions. We do like very long walks. Walking is good.
* see, it works both ways.
Even Dune? Lol
Some of us can't play golf this time of year![]()
I believe the groupthink is that if you put any old cab on top of any old cab, the results are unpredictable. the simplest solution is if you like your sound but need ‘more’ add a second identical cab. That’s the safest bet they’ll work well together. Not that other things can’t work. It’s just more of a crap shoot.

Some of us just can't play golf. period.
That sounds more like a common sense rant than a nerd rant.I believe the groupthink is that if you put any old cab on top of any old cab, the results are unpredictable. the simplest solution is if you like your sound but need ‘more’ add a second identical cab. Both ways? Ah, right, no extra 'Birds, no Vespa. Well, that just means we have a rationalization challenge to work on for you. He's not allowed* a Vespa. It would be suicide here anyway. Neither of us use personal internal combustion contraptions. We do like very long walks. Walking is good.

Some of us don't ever play golf. The allure of golf is one of those mysteries I am barred from understanding. I tried for work reasons, but failed. Golf courses look like a horrible waste of water on an otherwise ideal dirt bike playground. Some of us can't play golf this time of year![]()

Ok, well I just agreed a delivered price on the 2011 Gibson Thunderbird I mentioned earlier.
5 days shy of 7 months early for a 50th Birthday Bass. That’s gonna be close enough.
Hoping it will arrive for my birthday next week.
Alas, the deal on the Gibson fell through. Had a guy on the hook for my Reverend but he backed out. Ugh. Being superstitious I'm thinking it wasn't meant to be. Such is life.
Unlike the crap shoot of sticking six stomp boxes in a signal chain.![]()
So, I popped into my local music shop this morning to get a short lead for my new wireless setup (Smooth Hound classic - an awesome little piece of British “man-in-a-shed” engineering that I would recommend highly), and while I was there I had a little noodle on an Embassy Pro.
The bass is far too light for my liking, and the neck feels too chunky after my classic pro....but the pickups. Oh my. They are something else. I really can’t wait for my VP to arrive now![]()
Then I had a golf tournament first thing this morning (did quite well by the way).
Some have made their friends promise to shoot them if they ever do.(play golf)

Reprising my query here, curious that maybe I should avoid having a nice, or "dead spot" over the pole pieces:
"So, concerning pickup placement, what's the convention on where to set pole pieces with respect to nodes along the course of the strings?"
According to some on TB, though, my old cabs, a Hartke 410XL and a 410 Transporter, should have been mismatched to the point of blowing up amps I don't even own and sounding so bad I've been fired from gigs I haven't auditioned for, too. And yet, I've gotten complimented on how nasty (the good kind) it sounded. It sounds a wee bit better now that I've replaced that T with another XL, too.It was only a lame attempt at humour. Y’know the cabs not being identical. That’s all. No serious point.
Yes, it is.This is Furk the Experts Week, right?
