Ok, well I just agreed a delivered price on the 2011 Gibson Thunderbird I mentioned earlier.
5 days shy of 7 months early for a 50th Birthday Bass. That’s gonna be close enough.

I have reached the point where the Epiphone VP is a non-starter for me. Apart from the question of availability, why on earth spend a fair whack on a IV only to turn into a II (@D.M.N. is right) and spend more for a replacement pup? I will however continue to derive vicarious pleasure from others' NVPDs. Carry on!

I have sold a few things lately and have a little put aside for a purchase but am being thwarted at every turn.
First the Epis VP appear a forlorn hope for us on the right side of the world- strange.. they are made relatively nearby.
Next I actually found a Pink Paisley Single Coil P Bass in the US and the guy won't ship to Australia.
The guy with the cool red G3 with an ebony board in West Australia won't budge off his ridiculous $3K price and there is just no sign of a BFG Les Paul Bass anywhere in Australia.
I might run out and buy a P Bass in desperation.
Only predicting 29- 30 here, which is quite sufficient.
Sorry to hear. Kinda sucks, but I guess at least you're realistic about it. Maybe they'll start appearing there after a while, since they're not even in full supply here yet?
@veebass -- can you not ship the paisley via shipitto or another trans-shipper?
Is it difficult to set up?
Not at all. No money up front and the fees are very reasonable. I set mine up on a recommendation, then later saw some bad reviews, so while I have no complaints you might want to shop around a little. An hour or two online should have you sorted.

What typically happens here is that it'll start raining and the bottom drops out of the thermometer. We get a layer of ice before we get snow on top, which just keeps the I've frozen. Despite what all these fools here say, NOBODY drives well on ice without specialized equipment...that they don' have.
@veebass -- And obviously you should have the bass disassembled for shipment, because you'll save a fvck-ton over having it shipped full size.
Lol, same here. Snow days are "off-road vehicle" days.
There are other Birds, so not that worried really.
