Have a love/hate relationship with the 810.

I feel you there. At one time in my life I only owned 4 cabs and they were all 810’s. I always took Two on the road and used em both as often as possible. Kinda silly to drag an 810 into a quiet country gig, but that’s what I did :) Around 2006 I switched amp endorsements and really began experimenting with different things which led to me becoming a cab builder. It was more for selfish reasons than anything else :)

The thing about speaker cabs is it’s all about juggling compromises. Every cab ever made is a compromise of some sort and all the best designers out there will tell you so. I hear folks say otherwise, but they’re either just brand centric fanboys, or someone trying to sell you something. Only you can say what strikes the right balance for you

Well said!, I really miss 12's. But would
Love to have a go at your 1822.

Ah, then better that you stayed home. People are disgusting.

The most truly disgusting thing I ever saw a train, was a bloke eating some sort of roll with a saussage in it, and he was putting it down on the cloth seat between bites.

Nothing like eating salty Pork Products on a gray rainy morning.........

Fnarr Fnarr Fnarr!

Speaking of which, you've got some dark circles around them. I think you need more sleep.

Chronic insomnia

@kat888, took your advice on mushed up ginger, lemon juice and honey. Asked my neighbor if he were to go shopping. Would you be so kind to get me a few things. Great guy and knew I had been feeling nasty. He said sure. It's working like a charm. Best I've felt all week.

It doesn't actually have any therapeutic utility, but it can help cheer you up!

HPF doesn't count. So yours IS smalller.

Bragger!

I'm gonna be one of who agrees on tube power. And big difference between sag and mush. No doubt. Kinda surprised though on the Traynor. Maybe cause of no mondo power section, big iron. Idk. I'm certainly no expert.

Me either, but I suspect you’re right that there just might not be enough gas in the tank on this one. New preamp tube was scheduled for delivery today, but the mailman has come and gone and no tube yet :/

I’d like to think you could do a lot worse :)

Speaking of delivery schedules, UPS tracking tells me my 2002 ‘Bird is on the truck and scheduled for delivery today. We’ll see. During this time of year, I try to not be too anxious about that stuff :)

I'm banking on you'll be getting it today, may be late. But I think it'll arrive as scheduled.

I like the way you think! Usually, if something’s gonna come via UPS, it would’ve by about now, but again, I’m not gonna sit around biting my nails over it...too much :)

Me too! I should have a tech give it the once over anyway. Just not completely sure it’s gonna stay around or not yet. Time will tell. There is some magic in the tube power section, but with this amp, it’s coming at the expense of clarity. Tough for me when low end starts to mush out too much. Sag Yes. Mush No!

In a way, I'm hoping there IS something wrong with yours, as I don't recognise your experience. Doesn't do clean, yes, but not to the extent that it's mushy. Plenty of low end paired with my cab etc.

Everyone is different I know, but I want people to get on with the amp, given that I'm effectively an endorser in these parts. I'm beginning to feel bad for giving you a bum steer.

I'd like to be right for a change, we'll see. I've been quite put off when it says on the truck for delivery and doesn't show.
