Three strikes me as the right amount of ‘Birds to own. Hope so, at least. Just put a deposit down on a Cataldo this morning. No more basses this year after that, I’m good![]()
I may need to rethink that, there are over 3 weeks left and there may be a Ric crop up that I 'need'.
NR with a single TB Ranch ‘63 or ‘66. Gonna try both and decide. Clips are so tough to go by. They both sound really good to me, but I’d like to decide for myself. It’ll have a 60’s look. Pretty stoked!
She says now. I don't believe it.

63N for a REV and 66S for an NR. Those are the rules.
Australian rules, maybe![]()
I’m gonna go with whatever I like best, but you may win in the end for all I know![]()
So looking around for spacey noise makers![]()
Another ‘Bird?! How many do you need, Miss greedy pants?!
N+1. N+1 is all I need.
'Took the (2) Epi birds out this last weekend for gigs Friday and Saturday nights.
I REALLY HAVE TO change out the neck side dots on the Vintage, as I CANNOT SEE THEM!!!
That small? I wear glasses, but not onstage as a rule. I like big side dots more every year![]()
I’m not saying I won’t seek out more gear, but just probably not basses for quite awhile. Amps and pedals may be a different story. I’ve been listening to how some of the Doom players use texture and that interests me, I just won’t be doing it in a Doom context. So looking around for spacey noise makers![]()
I’ve listend to more clips of aftermarket T Bird pickups than I care to admit. Then listened again. And again. And again. I’m sure I’m full of it, but on neck pickup only clips of the Thunderbuckers, I like both the ‘63 and the ‘66 quite a bit. With a two pickup bass, both pickups on, I tend to lean toward the ‘63’s. But that is based on clips, not real world experience. Love the Lollars too
So glad I managed Lollars into my Classic Pro. Now onto a Cataldo with Thunderbuckers I say!!!
