Thunderbird Club

Three strikes me as the right amount of ‘Birds to own. Hope so, at least. Just put a deposit down on a Cataldo this morning. No more basses this year after that, I’m good :)

She says now. I don't believe it.

I believe her, @kat888 has been pretty strong on the 3 basses thing.

Wow! Congrats mate!

I’ve listend to more clips of aftermarket T Bird pickups than I care to admit. Then listened again. And again. And again. I’m sure I’m full of it, but on neck pickup only clips of the Thunderbuckers, I like both the ‘63 and the ‘66 quite a bit. With a two pickup bass, both pickups on, I tend to lean toward the ‘63’s. But that is based on clips, not real world experience. Love the Lollars too

So looking around for spacey noise makers :)

Don't get @Gaolee and me started ... you'll need a trusty theremin and an oil can delay. There is division as to whether said delay must be a Volkswagen sized Morley or Telray, or whether an emulator is permissible, but an oil can is spacey, if spacey is bad acid in an abandoned fairground hall of mirrors.

There's no truth to the rumour the Will and I are the Lost Boys, although he does bear an uncanny resemblance to Kiefer Sutherland.

'Took the (2) Epi birds out this last weekend for gigs Friday and Saturday nights.
I REALLY HAVE TO change out the neck side dots on the Vintage, as I CANNOT SEE THEM!!!

That small? I wear glasses, but not onstage as a rule. I like big side dots more every year :)

I’m not saying I won’t seek out more gear, but just probably not basses for quite awhile. Amps and pedals may be a different story. I’ve been listening to how some of the Doom players use texture and that interests me, I just won’t be doing it in a Doom context. So looking around for spacey noise makers :)

So glad I managed Lollars into my Classic Pro. Now onto a Cataldo with Thunderbuckers I say!!!

preamp tube is here for the Traynor. Seeing if there’s a bit more clean gain to be had. Here’s what was in it...

Swapped for a JJ5751 gold pin. I can hear zero difference between the two. Thank goodness pre tubes are cheap :)
