Whoa...was talking to a friend about that record just today. I bought it the day he died. Took forever to get all the way through it...just too sad/prophetic, whatever. That record is genius. Thought about covering ‘Sue’ with Prayer Flags. Bowie was huge for me from the start. Never occurred to me he could die

Bunch of stuff recorded Saturday evening. I didn't have any time to get through it in any meaningful way yesterday, and won't until tomorrow. But, it just reinforced why I like old Sure 330 microphones for vocals. Our singer has a wonderful voice, but she's not a belter at all. With those mics, the vocals float up to the top and sound like an intimate conversation over the noise and commotion the band is making. To me, anyway. If I actually knew what I was doing when recording, it would help in a lot of ways. That's the problem with being a hobbyist who does it on occasion and then forgets how it works.

Three strikes me as the right amount of ‘Birds to own. Hope so, at least. Just put a deposit down on a Cataldo this morning. No more basses this year after that, I’m good :)
