I know that, but was trying to better show the cut-a-way, which is easier to see on the white bass.

It is a neat looking bass, but I'm not sure just how much more upper fret access it really provides. The standard Tbird has 17 fret access and the Spector Rex has 22 fret access....

This Loux looks like about 17 fret unobstructed access but maybe the body top contour allows you to stretch to 18 or 19 frets. Still a neat looking bird though!

Haha, no worries. They are the old style caps, some people rate them, some just go for the modern alternative i believe. Dunno though, just trying things. The question was about what length pots to get for my bass... original question is here! Cheers for the love

Welcome to the TBird club!! In response to your question about the pot, you just need a regular length shaft. The long shaft is for things like arched-top Les Pauls and other such guitars/basses.

Maybe I miss-spoke when I said "cut-a-way", it's more of a bevel that allows easier access to the upper frets. Here is the video for a better look.

Mine is an Epiphone non-reverse 5-string. It sounds quite meaty, but I need to fiddle with the string gauges. I'm always toying with turning it into a replica of Entwistle's Fenderbird.

Awesome, many thanks Nocturnal... gonna order a set of Emmerson Pots from France I think. Though I only really need to upgrade the tone pot, I may aswell do the whole set. More fun that way

So my Thunderbird brethren the Badbird II is about to drop. This is a 60's style two piece bridge for all post 1989 Gibson and Epiphone Thunderbirds. Machined from solid brass and nickle plated the bridge features a 60's style airfoil shaped tailpiece that gives a greater angle string break across the saddles improving sustain and tone. I'd like it if you guys could give me a idea of demand. Pictured here is my 2001 Gibson Thunderbird aka the Butcherbird with the original Badbird installed. Obviously not wide enough to set intonation but the increase in sustain was noticeable, also it was possible to get the action super low!

I think this is the perfect segment of the market to go after - There are so many Post '88 Thunderbirds out there that owners would like to modify into the classic appearance.
