That’s me. Laugh it up, I love it...and the best part is. That was a year after I’d really got back into cycling...here’s a before and after

So in just one year of having the time of my life I managed to shed 60lbs. Best decision I ever made. Helps stave off depression, totally joyful experience and healthy. And sure, the clothes look stupid. There’s been several 20 something hipsters that show up in jeans telling us the clothes are dumb and unnecessary. About 20 miles into a 50-60 mile ride their opinions tend to change :)

If you can find anything in this world that brings you that much joy, I suggest you embrace it!

Commuting on the motorcycle is one of those things I do because it makes me happy. It's not as health promoting as a bicycle, but I have my own armadillo suit for riding. And, for me, making music. I don't do it for a living, so it's pure joy for me.

Shimano, eh? Campy Veloce on my Bianchi.

I worked/managed an independent bike shop in'72- '73. Shimano were the absolute worst components you could buy...my how things change!

I recall doing 50 miles or so one summer day in the piedmont region of Georgia. Holiday, no traffic, fairly flat, no big deal. Then again, I was 17...

Shimano on an Italian bike is kinda sacrilege! It’s a great bike though. Shimano make the best components, IMO, but they’re a terrible company in many ways. Knowing what I know now, if I ever put together a custom bike, the components will be SRAM. I’ll still slightly prefer Shimano, but SRAM is more the kind of company I can get behind, ethically. What kind of Bianchi do you have, Carlo? @JIO is an lifelong cyclist too :)

That’s one more than most people will ever do, great job!!! My first one was a huge thing to me. Incredible feeling of accomplishment

I bought Suntour (IIRC) back then!

That’s some OG sh!t right there!
