I have mediums, 44-105, and they feel like a typical set of the same gauge, tension wise. Similar to the Balls that were on it I guess.Vince, what's the tension like on those?, i see they make a light gauge set 40-58-80-102. Anything much heavier than that just doesn't feel right to me.

Speaking of which..
I got my Ken Smith Compressors (pressure wound) today.

Yes I do.So you like em? Those are on ‘the list’ too
...
I'm with you on that! I played my buddy's bass that had lights on its, it was weird!...
Why do you say that? I’m fascinated by how different people, hands, whatever, respond to string tension. I ran either 50-110 or 50-115 for years. Now, I’ve backed it down a bit on some basses, but smaller than 45-105 kinda freaks me out. Maybe that’s skewed by the fact that I play a lot of upright. I’m not dissing lighter strings. Jealous, in fact![]()
Well, if I sold both of my '64 Tbirds...I've wanted a Cervelo for years! Gorgeous bikes that look like you could get a contact-high just from climbing on! Must be such an incredible ride!
The only thing that might be dumb about them is the color combos some riders choose. Other than that, fully functional. ...Unlike Chucks which are about the most uncomfortable pair of sneakers you can overpay for.

So Do I get #700? Or am I late for that?

I don't think there's any right or wrong as far as tension goes. It's what feels good to the player and what sort of technique we have, but you already kinda said that.
I used to be quite heavy handed, so, heavier gauge strings worked for that style, at that time. I play much differently than i used to, and have adapted to lighter gauge strings.
Labellas are way to floppy for me. And way to huge sounding once they start breaking in. But that's just me, and as much as i like TI's. They started to feel a little loose to me as well.
Now i'm just rambling, not sure i really got to any point about it all.
The way some motorists are toward cyclists, you might catch me dead in Lycra one day! I used to say the same thing, but the more I got into the sport and trying to improve at it, the more I just got over the dumb clothes![]()

No joke - my two race bikes were at the time worth about $5k a piece, for today's comparable level... double it and add $5. (insider Moto humor)![]()
My buddy Lynn is building up a Mosiac for a female amateur racer. It’ll be her ‘fun’ bike, not her race bike. Full custom geometry and graphics, DI2 groupset, carbon wheels. Gonna be around $13,000. Crazy!
But if I could, I would![]()

Man, this thread moves fast! This is one of Brad's(@BeeTL )non reverse bodies in action.I bought it here from @fretno ... originally I was going to route it for a thunderbucker but the damn thing rocks as a T-Pee.
It would not be a mistake to buy one of Brads bodies..Especially in Swamp Ash..Cheers.
