I don't think you can get outta the Club that easily! The New Cataldo Plan For World Domination (or Damnation, take your pick). Apologies to 'The Brain'.

EfSoBird!
Also be a P version. Both with front or back electronics cavity, paint or stain, body wood, neck, and hardware options, etc.
'Research' says there'll be interest in the GP for something like this after the VP's success. Lull offers similar but at a higher price than I'm seeking.

Logarithmic math(s) is a tricky thing to understand. The rule if thumb is +3dB everytime you double the drivers. The ohm rating on a cab tells you nothing other than the load which is presented to to the output stage of the amp.
You can wire 4 8Ω drivers to present 32, 8 or 2 ohm loads, ie series, series-parallel or parallel.
Now, if we ignore the cabinet ohm rating (not relevant here) the SVT112AV cab (single driver version of what I have) is rated @ 96dB for 1W in. The SVT212AV is rated @ 99dB -- you see, double the drivers gives you another 3dB fot that same 1W in.
If you were to add another SVT212AV (yes please), you would get 102dB for that same 1W in. We can go from 1 driver to 4 drivers on the same amp and get an extra 6dB output, which is noticable, bearing in mind twice as loud is +10dB.

Only technical stuff. Most of it can be understood from just trying out as much stuff as possible. It's like when getting a new car that has more than one engine option. Most people don't know the math behind horsepower and torque, but most people know that a bigger engine will be faster.Nobody told me math would be involved when I picked up my first bass!![]()

LOL! Was just looking at the Neo 212... will check out the 412 too. Also looking at Ampeg 212AV on recommendation here.
Forgive me if this is a stupid idea... but with the GK MB 500 could I just get a 112 cab now and if down the line I find people who I can play with, then get a second 112 to give me a 212 type rig?

So, ummmmm... first, thank you for the explanation!
And, second... since I'm kind of a math moron... could you maybe say something more like... 2x112's is good or bad vs. 1x212 so I can try to get a handle on what you said?

I'd rock a P version of that! The New Cataldo Plan For World Domination (or Damnation, take your pick). Apologies to 'The Brain'.

That's where you're mistaken m'dear. The gear is overpriced here too... just not as overpriced as it is there! Had the same argument a while back about gasoline. Somebody in the UK kept going on about how we (Americans) didn't pay enough for our gasoline. Utterly ridiculous! Just because we don't pay as much as they do in the UK, doesn't mean we don't pay enough, or that it's "stupidly cheap". It only means that y'all are payin' too mucher than we are!The 212AV may be a bit expensive, then again you do live in the land of stupidly cheap gear....
If you do any research, you will quickly see that the majority
of opinions will say to steer clear of CCB's. (Cheap Chinese Basses.)
The thinking is why hinder your learning with an inferior instrument.
Others counter that it's better to play a cheapie than not at all.
It's one of those circuitous arguments that comes up all the time.
(Tubes/SS, flats/rounds, Fender/Gibson.. I'm not advocating
either way, just be aware of what's available.

2 single 12's is fine.
Well, it's subjective. Depends on your wants and needs. So, ummmmm... first, thank you for the explanation!

I can't tolerate tweeters, I turn em off or disconnect them.
That battered one I had qualified as a Truman era bass, and it looked like it had been dragged by everything that could drag anything. It had plenty of obvious repairs and was delaminating when I got it. I made a new tail for it, reset the neck twice, and bondoed up the body with the intention of painting it metal flake electric blue or something. Then the cat climbed it. I fixed that damage. The second time the cat did that, the body pretty much fell apart. That was the only destructive thing the cat ever did. Dick the Cat was the perfect cat, if you can overlook bass destruction.

Of course. Twice.

With regards to Hartke... I would urge you to try before you buy. They seem to be a love it or hate it kinda cab. Which side of the fence you fall on, is entirely up to you and your ears. I personally am not a fan... but my experience with them is 20 years old now...Speaking of Hartke... what kind of reputation do their cabs have? Been trying to research them online.
