We will crush our enemies, see them driven before us, and hear the lamentations of their J basses!
Hey all! It's been a long time. I'm down to one T-Bird (still in the club!) and a P bass. Had to shuffle a few things around. Still playing and finally have a show with my band coming up on Feb. 10.
How are you all?
Did a quick clip of the Cataldo NR41 if anyone is interested. A/B’d it with my ‘02 Gibson to hear the difference of the stock Gibson pickups vs the Thunderbucker Ranch ‘63

I dunno... I could go for a nice pickguard on rye about now...If you gotta have a J, that's a pretty good one to have. Shame about the salami, though.

I'm leaning toward a 66 set for the '91, but I'm still not 100% sure. A 63 set might be good, too. I can't alter the pickups in the '01. And the '15 is its own thing. Sounds like a case of N+1.

Nice vid and and even nicer bass!
This is a good example of why I replaced my 2014 Gibson TB pickups with a set of Lollar T-Bird pickups. They may not be exactly the same as the Thunderbucker pickups but I was looking for what I would call "aggressive clarity" which, to my ear, the Gibson's lack. The Gibson stock pickup reminds me of Bartolini replacement pickup I once put into a Ric 4001.
Warning: may contain traces of TORT
For Sale - CIJ Fender '66 Jazz Bass reissue. Local, cash sale only.
I think @Korladis has that setup.Sounds like it! This is just a hunch, but I have a feeling Two ‘63’s with a push/pull for series/parallel could sound really good
...
You still have a lot to learn here....
Seems a tad extreme. We could just quietly and politely passed em up, shake hands as we go by, compliment their shoes or something nice?

Death by overdose is typically easily avoided as well... but some people just love the drug too much...The whole tort thing could have been avoided in this case- a whitish pickguard could have been "period correct".
Mozzarella cheese with pickguard...offer them some olives and marinated vegetables to go with their salami...
The cheese looks good... but that salami looks oooold!Mozzarella cheese with pickguard
