Thunderbird Club

Sounds like how Motley Crue was in the last few years they were touring. :roflmao:

One reason I've not been online too much the last few weeks, just pissed at the situation and resent that we were just getting some good bookings and this crap happened. I put a year busting my ass for this band to get moving and acting like kids is ruining it.

I like the GnR tribute and we finally got a decent second guitarist and starting to book some shows. The gig at the Queen theater should be nice.

I have noticed that the punk bands seem to work together better to help the entire scene, at least from the ones we are booking with.

I guess I should be happy, at least I'm getting work and at least three bands don't think I suck and just got a sweet Orange Terror 500.

That's quite the silver lining!

Re the cats, I'm happily her human.........I'm crazy in love with her.

She has such a sweet look, who wouldn't love that? There was a reason the ancient Egyptians worshipped them.

And now for a gratuitous cat pic, of one of my two darlings, along with some "Cat Behavioral Science," from Bill Nye, the cat guy. Everybody sing: "He blinded me with science . . . cat science!"

What’s Up With That: Why Do Cats Love Boxes So Much?

I totally feel you. I love playing music so much, but musicians generally suck. It’s like in the movie Clerks, “This job would be great if it weren’t for the customers.”

Worst part is that it's the same drummer in the Crue and GnR act. He is just been shredding the singer in the Crue act and litterally blew the band off for a month. I just want to work hard, can improve the quality of the product and not act like teenagers. No matter what band that is. Why is it so hard for people in their 40's and 50's to act like grown ups? I'm 51 and who knows how much time I have to play, don't want to waste time

There’s gotta be a psychological write up on this subject. I think it’s actually fear of commitment.

I’ve loved both my cats like it’s going out of style, but I grew up with dogs and will always be a dog person.

My wife commented that she never saw me cry except for the night we had to put our last cat to sleep on her 18th birthday.
People who don't have pets don't always appreciate what it is like to share a space, nuture and care for a creature for that many years. It is a special bond. No wonder you reacted the way you did. You lost a friend.

I love dogs too but it is hard to have one and live in a condo in an urban area. My building only allows cats, which works for me.

One of the reasons I am so attracted to the Maine Coone breed is that they are known for being "the dogs of the cat world". They are very social. They greet me (and guests) at the door. They like to be in the presence of their humans. And they are very communicative. Similar to dogs, they are very attuned to their humans. That is why I drove two hours each way, to adopt them from the wonderful animal rescue people. And I feel like I am the lucky one in that equation.

That’s awesome. And yeah, same here with not allowing dogs. But that’s fine. It would be hard to accommodate a dog with our lifestyles. But it doesn’t stop me from loving other people’s dogs. And our cat is fantastic. Social with us, but hides when others come over. And not a malicious bone in her body. It’s quite remarkable actually.

Somedoggy has the right idea. Bed....

Well, it's called a 'second childhood' for a reason. Heck, as a kid, I had so many rules, and one was 'no electronic instruments'. So I took up the saxophone, got a beat up $100 horn that needed $200 of work to be playable, and practiced A LOT. My brother played trumpet. We practiced together. No mutes.

Pretty sure my parents wished they'd let me get a starter bass and amp.

Now, at 45, I started all over again. In 2 years I went from 0 basses/amps/pedals to a 4/2/1 mix, though Danelectro 'food' pedals aren't really optimized for basses and I just have the Fish & Chips EQ. My parents are surprisingly OK with it. Not having to share the house with the noise might be a small factor. Also, instead of a 50 year old sax with 60 year old pads, cork and felt, all 4 basses are relatively modern things and require WAY less maintenance than a sax. Also harder to make them sound like a dying goose wrestling with a wounded bagpipe. I ended up donating the old sax to a charity recently, may it rest in pieces knowing its salvagable parts were used to save other woodwind's lives...

Still, taking up the bass is kinda my second childhood phase, since I can't afford a fast car or any other indulgences. Now I just need to aspire to mediocrity and find bandmates to argue with!
