Thunderbird Club

My two spoiled brats

One reason I've not been online too much the last few weeks, just pissed at the situation and resent that we were just getting some good bookings and this crap happened. I put a year busting my ass for this band to get moving and acting like kids is ruining it.

I like the GnR tribute and we finally got a decent second guitarist and starting to book some shows. The gig at the Queen theater should be nice.

I have noticed that the punk bands seem to work together better to help the entire scene, at least from the ones we are booking with.

I guess I should be happy, at least I'm getting work and at least three bands don't think I suck and just got a sweet Orange Terror 500.
Here's the thing, and it's easy for me to say as a day job type. We don't do this for our health or fame or fortune. We do it because we want to or need to. If it's working, ride it, if it isn't, screw it.

I noticed a pretty good blood blister growing under a callus on my right middle finger. Mark @dukeorock certainly knows that one. Anyway, it kinda makes me happy. It is one of those things I'll stick a burnt pin in and then have a good rockabilly hook. You only think that way if it isn't a chore. When it becomes a chore, there's better ways to make a buck or two.

Worst part is that it's the same drummer in the Crue and GnR act. He is just been shredding the singer in the Crue act and litterally blew the band off for a month. I just want to work hard, can improve the quality of the product and not act like teenagers. No matter what band that is. Why is it so hard for people in their 40's and 50's to act like grown ups? I'm 51 and who knows how much time I have to play, don't want to waste time
I'm going to be 58 in a few weeks. I don't have a whole lot of patience for drama. I do have a lot of patience for dissent and artistic directions. There's a difference.

Possibly just finished up another 'Single Source' tune. All tracks performed on the Cataldo NR41

Carlo had no idea how thoroughly you would use and abuse that thing when he sent it to you! There's not enough electronic manipulation going on. MORE THEREMIN!

Duke... you definitely have somethin' goin' on here man! You really create an atmosphere with this single source stuff. I think that's why it would make such good movie music:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks! Just having fun trying stuff for now :)

Best one yet! You really caught that snipe.
I reckon you could put them up on iTunes or something.

Maybe after a whole lot of work!

Rip it, baby! It's playing and doing stuff. The best things happen when you are just doing stuff.

I might be under the influence. I'm listening to the Sonics really loud. My wife is at a dinner party with some her friends. Which means I'm kinda feral for the evening. Which often leads to noise.

Ha! I hope I’m not causing Carlo too much shame! Yeah, it’s a lot of manipulation right now. Hopefully more ideas will come from a compositional angle...that’s the hope, anyway

Love the Sonics!!! That drum sound...amazing!

I'm going through a lo-fi phase which is probably a reversion to dumpster diving for musical instrument days. Banging on an AMC Gremlin brake drum and destroying drumsticks on casting spurs seems like the perfect percussion these days. And, blowing up 5 watt amps is even better. No effects or manipulation necessary when it dissolves to fuzz on its own.

I wonder how they recorded some of what they did. It was muddy as hell, but completely insistent. I love playing like that. Until my hands fall off.
I love living here.

Without the Sonics, there would have been no Sex Pistols.

For what it's worth, one band plays Strychnine, and I play drums. Another band plays Have Love Will Travel, and I beat the snot out of the upright bass. The Sonics bring out all my attitude problems in short order. Which makes me happy.

Fortunately, I never learned to juggle. Which means I'm not the guy standing on the top of a moving bus juggling running chainsaws. That never ends well.

My brother says I'm really a drummer. Beats me whether he's right or I should be really pissed. I absolutely love the physicality of playing bass or drums.

That's pretty awesome. I like my music to come out of garages, swamps, bayous and modern jazz, with a bit of noir and goth thrown in.

I love it! ShackShakers records always started with a trip to the hardware store and low wattage amps are my favorites for recording guitars...they really sound bigger in the end
