My angry skate-punk phase was cut short by my back surgery. That, plus 6 months in a body cast, will have an affect on a 15 year old kid. You may recall that I used that surgery as a tool to guilt my parents into getting me my first drum set. When I came outa that cast... the skate punk was gone. I spent most of my time in the basement teaching my parents the meaning of the word "regret", while I was bashing out Aerosmith, Hendrix, Kansas, Boston, & Stones tunes

I still have that Crumbsuckers cassette in my collection. Bought it new of that year. Just when I thought I got a handle on you I realize that we have more in common than I thought. Crazy

I like how Entwistle casually backs away from the chaos so his bass stays safe. It looks like great fun to obliterate the instruments but I could never do it. Even with tons of money I just couldnt.

I'm in a Pistols tribute and our last gig was filled with kids between 18-25 that knew every word of the songs, except the two B sides we do. Ironically, this is the most stable and mature group of guys I have ever played with. View attachment 2900081

He wasn't part of the physical mayhem. Just the sonic mayhem. If any bass player was my inspiration to play bass, it was him. Except he was an inspiration after I picked up a bass. Close enough.

That's interesting and not consistent of information fom other sites...

I believe some of the recordings for the album (produced by Chris Thomas) already had Glenn Matlock on them from before he split, but the remaining tracks probably was performed by Steve Jones.

Sid did some tracks on Bodies, but ended up in hospital, so Steve redid them.

I just got the coolest text from my eldest daughter! It seems that this semester at school isn't nearly as entertaining as the last... and it's payin' off!!! Here's a copy & paste of her text...

I don't know how... but she found the soundtrack to "Cadillac Records", which led her down the path to Etta James, Chuck Berry, and more! She just sent me another text that said, "I did not know the Rolling Stones were Muddy Waters inspired"!
