Thunderbird Club

My submission of the night. Yoko Ono is an incredible vocalist with an octave range witch is relatively unknown in the recording industry, in fact its so incredible and unique that Celine Dion credits her as an inspiration to become a famous vocalist. Yoko once said that she didnt need the money, fame and illustrious careers such as Tiffany or Toni Basil since her lifestyle was funded by her late husband John Lennon. Yoko is also known for her psychiatric bowel movement therapy sessions as illustrated in this video.

What a bunch of fn' pansies man, nobody started a mosh pit. I would have been throwin' down hard punches in Yoko's direction BIGtime!.

NOW WE REALLY NEED JOHN WICK AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!! :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

Afaik there's no definitive answer as to the FB material. I'm curious.

So am I. I added this while you were replying.
"Interesting question, though. This one has been imported into a CITES signatory country ie Japan legally. Many others have been imported legally into other CITES countries. The Epi spec sheets do not say what the fingerboard material is. Why should an assumption be made by our Customs that it is Rosewood?"

I am buying it as brand new and through eBay. So have Paypal protection if I don't get it.
I don't expect a problem.
Why do you ask?

Epiphone's website doesn't say anything about the fretboard material, but the Thomann website says Blackwood Teck (Pinus radiata) fretboard...

Thank you. Although my experience with Pinus radiate would suggest it is a bit soft.

Blackwood Tek is a technologically modified wood that exhibits the properties and appearance of African Ebony or Indian Rosewood. It is obtained by taking Pinus radiata through a technological process that uses natural products, without plastics or other petroleum derivatives.

Its high density, hardness and stability, in addition to its colour (black or brown depending on the variety) make it ideal for fingerboards and other parts of musical instruments. Moreover, Blackwood Tek is suitable for immediate use, with a stable moisture content of 5%, and is resistant to changes in humidity and temperature with minimal fluctuation.

Interesting read - Sounds like the ideal fretboard material... ;)

Been kinda missing you guys. Just too busy, wife broke her ankle and it's still an issue... working like a nut, been down with some weird body flu since Thursday- didn't go to work Friday so we'll be feeling that hit next week. Sick of being broke, and It's not as if I don't work like a damn fool!

Seems life has been down deep in the trenches last month or two, having hell to find the surface. Things change, but I wish they'd hurry up and do it...

On the brighter side, I may have found a concert harp that my elder daughter can use a couple times a week. She can't really play the music she wants to on her lever harp. A concert harp has pedals you work with your feet to change keys, and once you go there, of course, there's no going back! We're going to be getting deep in hock soon enough, I can see that coming, Lol. No new basses for Rog this year! Or next... the kid's got a touch for that instrument though, and ears to die for, so we figure It's worth it. There you go- and it's not as if I won't get to play my bass anymore!

Meanwhile I'm revving up to build a body for another bass, as it maybe the last one for a while. Carlo was generous toward that end, we may be seeing a deluxe Grabber hybrid looming on the horizon soon. Not sure what I'll call it, maybe "Gründaar", or something vaguely Norse/Thundar-like?

Sorry I'm so out of context (lol... what context!), I just don't try to stay with this conversation if I'm not in it every day! Vroom-vroom...

Sometimes you need to do what you need to do...

Getting your daughter set up right is important...

We had a pretty nice saving set aside for bad times, which we loaned to our daughter so she could finish renovating her apartment (which she bought reasonably cheap).

We decided to make it a permanent gift for her birthday, so she didn't have to pay both us and the bank.

Although we could have used the money ourselves, we figured we could eventually save it up again...

This stuff looks good! I have a Gibson bass (G3 RI) with a "roasted" maple board and it looks, sounds and wears fine as well.

Had this PF50T not had a problem in the power section. I would have kept it. Couldn't believe 50watts of tube power could drive the 810.

A 50watt version of a V4. It was huge sounding. Wasn't expecting it at all to sound so massive.

I’m a bit interested in these and the 20s. No need for one just like to ponder. :)

Nice, so you'll likely have the first Epi VP in Oz!

@veebass is the the new Epi importer for Oz

What sort of problems were you having with the power section?

Some sort of noise. I did everything to first isolate where it was coming from. With the good help of beans on toast over at the Portaflex club. But narrowed it down to one of the transformers. I had gotten it used through GC. But I got a full refund on the return. To bad cause it sounded great. I would certainly get another one. The one I got was just a lemon.

If you're going for the flip top vibe, you should look at this:
