NOW WE'RE TALKING!!
Probably not much cheaper than an original though.....
And I'd like an early one to go with my P-bass.

" It shoots through schools"
And then use the money on a vintage one. Plenty out there and fewer problems in the long run IMO.
Definitely not kidding I would love the packaging !Duke (if I may): I have two so I can send one package to you when I put the strings on. (if you werent just kidding).
Thank you. Although my experience with Pinus radiate would suggest it is a bit soft.
Class D with triple the tubes of most others and a Baxendahl tone stack.

This helped me understand how to twirl the knobs...and unlike my PF500 it didn't blow up when I looked at it funny. AFAIK, the designer now works for Mesa. Apparently Fneder borrowed a lot of Genz tech for the Rumble series before they shut the brand down.

@JGR/Reiner is currently going down the rabbit hole in all tube designs. All of his previous offerings are really high end hybrid amps. He’s working on a new design that’s just over 100 watts, but gets louder than a Mesa D800+ at 8 ohms. Shows a lot of promise!
Was just checking out his FB page. That tube amp he is working on looks to be like it might be pretty great. Just like the rest of his gear.
I always thought the Streamliner was the beefiest sounding class d amp of its day and might still be. The eq is definitely a head scratcher at first! I like the Mesa D800 quite a bit, especially on upright, and yeah, same designer as the Streamliner.
I’d always understood that the Heritage line was a completely different thing from the import, mass produced Ampeg stuff. Like Ampeg’s boutique stuff? It’d had better be good gear for what they’re charging!

You mean you can get shirts that aren't black or white?!![]()
After trying a whole lot of different strings, one thing I know is for better or worse, you’re still gonna sound like you.
Hope I don't run into anyone wearing one of those on the subway. Things smell bad enough on them.
Yeah. It's sad that GK's Class A/B amps (RB series) are going away. But I'll reserve judgement until I hear what they're replaced with.
I was in a Subway yesterday morning, and they had salami. Also ham, turkey, roast beef... Place smelled like fresh bread, too.
In my experience, there is no such thing as the smell of anything fresh on the subways. I'll leave it at that.
Rog... I've spent a lot of time where you are. I've had the misfortune of learning a very valuable lesson. The harder the times are, and the longer they stretch out... the more important good clear, open communication with your wife will be. It's important to know that you're both pulling the same load, in the same direction, with the same goal in mind. It's hard enough to get through this sh!t without another engine at the other end of the the train pulling in the opposite direction! Ya know what's friggin' awesome? The fact that, in the midst of all of your struggles... you're doing what you can to accommodate and nurture your daughter's musical aptitude and interest! That's what an awesome parent does! Thoughts, prayers, vibes... whatever ya wanna call 'em... mine are with you, brother!Been kinda missing you guys. Just too busy, wife broke her ankle and it's still an issue... working like a nut, been down with some weird body flu since Thursday- didn't go to work Friday so we'll be feeling that hit next week. Sick of being broke, and It's not as if I don't work like a damn fool!
Seems life has been down deep in the trenches last month or two, having hell to find the surface. Things change, but I wish they'd hurry up and do it...
On the brighter side, I may have found a concert harp that my elder daughter can use a couple times a week. She can't really play the music she wants to on her lever harp. A concert harp has pedals you work with your feet to change keys, and once you go there, of course, there's no going back! We're going to be getting deep in hock soon enough, I can see that coming, Lol. No new basses for Rog this year! Or next... the kid's got a touch for that instrument though, and ears to die for, so we figure It's worth it. There you go- and it's not as if I won't get to play my bass anymore!
Meanwhile I'm revving up to build a body for another bass, as it maybe the last one for a while. Carlo was generous toward that end, we may be seeing a deluxe Grabber hybrid looming on the horizon soon. Not sure what I'll call it, maybe "Gründaar", or something vaguely Norse/Thundar-like?
Sorry I'm so out of context (lol... what context!), I just don't try to stay with this conversation if I'm not in it every day! Vroom-vroom...
One thing I’ve learned in all my string research of late is if all the variables with string construction. How the core shape and thickness in relation to the outer wrap wire thickness all affects tension. Interesting stuff. I’m sure I haven’t said anything you don’t already know, but I just find this all really fascinating.Clearly, Roto think that’s the proper balance. And to that point, many strings with the same gauge feel wildly different. Cobalt 45-105 feel WAY stiffer than a lot of other strings with the same numbers, so there’s that to consider. I’ve also only ever used Roto nickel strings. Never tried the steels. For steels, I’ve always run Lo Riders for whatever reason. Like em too!
Damn, Roger. Really sorry to hear about all the lows lately.Been kinda missing you guys.
