Thunderbird Club

I've seen lots of petite women playing Thunderbirds. And I'm pretty petite myself. Jeff has seen me in person. I've said this before, but I think Thunderbirds are deceptively easy to play. The first fret gets pulled in closer to me than on my FSO Carvin.

After never owning one till last September. A Bird is as easy to play as any other bass.
Took no acclimating to it.

Some sort of noise. I did everything to first isolate where it was coming from. With the good help of beans on toast over at the Portaflex club. But narrowed it down to one of the transformers. I had gotten it used through GC. But I got a full refund on the return. To bad cause it sounded great. I would certainly get another one. The one I got was just a lemon.
That’s a bummer. Like @RedVee, I have been eyeing these and following some of the related threads here on TB. They seem to be popular albeit the stories like yours. The ability to run the XLR outs (through either preamp and/or transformer out - pre and power tubes), with no load, to do recording is the primary draw for the apartment dweller here. I played the PF- T50 at GC a while back, through a portaflex cab. It sounded very cool and PLENTY loud for this cat. I might be taking a cue from you and directing some tax return funds, to a new bass head purchase. Gotta find a deal though.

Duke - you're killing me with that damn vintage color NR Cataldo in your avatar!
I so want Carlo to build me an Entwistle tribute Fenderbird. One of these days I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on that build.

I wouldn’t try to talk you out of it! Great basses :)

Good used deals to be had on those.
