I'm too much of a pragmatist for an a$$hole cat that belongs to the "girl", wife in my case. I'd just divorce it entirely from my life. I wouldn't look at it, feed it, touch it or decide what room it should occupy and when. It would just be the "girl's" cat and none of my concern.

Thankfully I've been very successful with warding off the, "we should get a cat" pleas from the wife and daughter.

I use their love for our dog as the reason not to mess with the house's current balance. Molly the dog is the princess that doesn't need to compete for attention and territory and adding a cat could ruin her life. I mean, it is possible... we just have to consider Molly's needs in all this... am I right? ;):)
Molly wants a cat.

Damn cat woke me up at 5am...he was on a mission and he succeeded. Drug him (literally kicking and screaming) out of the bedroom and shut the door so the girl could sleep a couple more hours before work. Now she’s peeved at me for being mean to that awful, spoiled a$$hole when all I did was pick him up and carry him out so she could sleep. One of those two will be the death of me. Pretty sure it’ll be the cat...fine, more coffee then :)

My cousins cats would drive you even crazier. At 3 in the morning, they start yowling the likes of no other cats I've ever heard before. They want to go out and prey on blind moles. Especially the fat one who can barely move he's so huge.

That made me really laugh!

Perhaps a cat-door so it could come and go as it pleased?

Haha!

The sad, yet inescapable truth is he’s technically my cat. I got him as a 6 week old future terrorist a year before the girl moved in. I knew she had this freaky, irrational love for those horrible things and when a rescue situation came up, I figured it was as good a time as any to start wrapping around the idea of coexisting with one. He was cute as sh!t for about 3 days. Been downhill ever since. She thinks he’s the most amazing, wonderful thing that ever lived. She’s wrong

Totally out of the question, to many other creatures, like foxes, very large birds that get pissed very easily, and have tried to fly away with them, cold weather. They may have gone feral. But need to keep a close eye on them.

Oh, your prior post gave me the impression that it was a seasoned mole hunter that was being kept from its prey. Didn't realize we were dealing with a house cat.

3 reasons I won't have a cat in my apartment. I'm never home on the weekends. When I'm not around for days at a time in NJ, who's going to take care of it. And most important, not thrilled at the thought of the 810 being the new scratching post and catching the little bastard scaling it with all fours as I walk in the door after work.

They are outdoors quite a bit. But it gets a little disheartening when they want to bring home their catch and put it on display for you. The fat one is for sure a seasoned mole hunter. But he looks for weak prey cause he can barely move.

That’s an easy one...just fill the entire house with hundreds of goofy looking climby/scratchy things to distract them and they’ll forget all about your grill cloth. This is the bill of goods I was sold. They still prefer grill cloth, because they’re horrible.

I’m really not a morning person

My wife had a cat and all i can say is that unconditionally accept any kind of behavior of those little ******** and let her deal with them, if you want peace at home.
i know it's hard to stay patient, but just let it go.

I’m half joking. I really don’t like cats much, but I still love animals and cats are technically animals :)
Besides, I love the girl more than I hate the cat, so I’m resigned to my fate

V-V. Plugged with black nylon fasteners. Proper bone nut. Planning to hang on to the HSC, seeing as the Orville is living in there now.

I might have a clip somewhere.
I let my first 'Bird go. Missing it is what led to the eventual flock. You have a jump on that. Mine was a bolt-on, but that's just a detail.

Ah the slippery slope of love... At least you got it half right. You just have penance for the other half. Namely the cat.
