GC has a worn Blackbird going for cheap. I might pick that up instead. Have a gift card with $800 that would finally serve a purpose.
Alright, well I don't think im trading off the ric. Between how much they're going for now, and you guys, i think it would be a decision I would regret.
I also think it would be a very very long time before I would be able to replace it.

I have no idea. All I remember from back then is my '60 EBO, which I still have. It might have been borrowed. Some kind of hollowbody.
...And I might be the oldest. This is 1968.

I don't even remember that bass.

I was going to volunteer that I might be the oldest (57) but seeing this, you may have me beat!

Probably a baldwin hollowbody. It's the closets i've come up with so far.
The macramé strap is really what makes it. My mom has plant holders from the 60's that look like that!
Yes! What Larry said! Tell me more about the Mercyful Fate merger!

I pulled the trigger on the GC Blackbird.
Its definitely worn, but in a cool way, its a '91 so yeah...Lotta mojo.
Had it on sale for guitar-a-thon for $780 too, so not bad for a gibson.
Here's some pics they sent. Figure I'll either love it or have Marty Bell fix it up.
