Thunderbird Club

General consensus is Thunderbuckers approximate 60s TBird sound best.
The 760s are very different to TB+s. I pulled the TB+s out of my Gibson and installed what we have called Chinabuckers- 60s TBird "replicas" sold by EY Guitars in China.
I would not be surprised if the 760 and the "Chinabuckers" are related.

There are some sound clips around of Thunderbuckers and Chinabuckers I think.
Thanks for this input, the cool thing is there are a lot of options out there for T Bird people, these Epis included!

There’s a club in Nashville called Nudies. Some rich dude collected many of his old suits, guitars, posters...even bought his old Cadillac and had it mounted to the wall. Sadly the club itself is pretty lame, but the old pieces are incredible

Curious if anyone uses modeling stuff like the Helix or Fractal AX8 with their ‘Birds. Seems like once a year I check in with that stuff to see what folks are doing because it seems like something that should work well. I even want it to work well. I just never have heard any examples that would motivate me to take the plunge. To be fair, I’m just listening to clips and tutorials, so I can’t rightly dismiss the stuff as I haven’t seriously tried to use it myself. Most of the bass players who use this kind of tech do a heavily processed metal kind of sound, which is cool, but not what I’d be going for. I also find tons of menus and tweaky stuff and that doesn’t look fun to me.

But it should work and be cool! I mean, my phone is way more powerful than any huge computer I ever owned just a few years ago (at least it seems that way). Just curious if anyone has had any positive experiences with these units?

We use Native Instruments GuitarRig in our band for both bass and guitar both live and for recoording. I also have a Behringer V-Amp Pro and a Bass V-Amp Pro that we might use live in the future.

Only got the Behringer modules a couple of months ago, and haven't used them live yet, but they seem quite capable for this.

We run GuitarRig off our PowerBook Pro live, which works really great. :)

In part, I suppose. A modeling amp, like the Fractal AX8 uses modeling software so that in theory at least, you can run any (virtual) amp through any (virtual) effects, into any (virtual) cab sim. Every parameter can be tweaked to the nth degree. Again, unbelievably cool on paper, but I’m lacking good real world examples of why I should go down that very deep and expensive rabbit hole

Oh, I see. It's the full shebang.
