I saw that as well.

3572 is the new 62. There were very few 'Birds in '63, which means we leap to 3574 and full production. What's up with Page 3572? For me running Firefox, it exists but there aren't any posts to view. When I move on to Page 3573, the posts continue.
Same with the fretless 'Bird and the 2001. Go figure.
Would you mind elaborating on the differences? I was under the impression they were both the same body and neck basically (feel), only difference being the pickups and hardware.

Yes. I probably ought to take another picture of it one of these days, because the pictures of it were thousands of pages ago.Have you posted a pic of this? A fretless T-bird is definitely an anomaly.

Pulled the frets off a 4001 once. What was I thinking?!!....Have you posted a pic of this? A fretless T-bird is definitely an anomaly.
It looks just like a burst finished Pro IV, except that it has no frets and Alumitone pickups. I recently took a sharpie to the dots to make them more or less the same color as the fingerboard, so it looks more fretless than it did. I don't know how long the sharpie will last.I'd like to see(again, maybe) it since I can't remember if I saw it or not.

Thanks very much for your response. I'm new to the thread and may have missed the first few thousand or so posts...

I've been a shooter most of my life, and the "as good as" thing is rampant in that field. A friend of mine once said "you can have the 'just as good as'...or you can have the 'as'."This whole ‘just as good, or better than’ stuff is becoming a sticking point with me. One may be different and more suitable to your needs, but ‘better?’ Different, sure. Both my Gibson’s are post 1989 and they’re terrific. I think the ceramic pickups sound really cool for some things. For other (most) things, I prefer the Alnico pickups like TB’s or Lollars, but that doesn’t mean the modern ceramics suck. They don’t .
The Epi VP’s are nice, especially at their price point. For all I know, I’ll wind up with one at some point, but I wouldnt sell either Gibson to do so
