Thunderbird Club

Yeah, I got a couple of Thunderbucker 66's as well. AWESOME tone.
EPI was smart in the design of their NR. Dunno but I believe, contractually with Gibson, they could not fit the NRs with humbuckers. I also believe they intentionally set up their NR so that by changing the PG and adding a pickup ring two proper buckers could be dropped in.

Does a tinfoil hat factor into any of that?

OK.This train of thought just came to me about 45 minutes ago,so it's still in the development stage. My only pup experience is w/ Gibby's and I would prefer to maintain the sound like my '67 so I'd welcome any input re other brands that would do the job. FWIW,I like a fat sound,i.e.,plenty of bottom but w/ that wonderful 'Bird edge. AAAARRRGGH! What am I getting myself in to?:wideyed::nailbiting::help:

Have one more on the way for pitch based stuff. Still figuring out where I want to put the HPF/LPF. And before you OCD nerds start yapping about the lack of tidiness, I still don’t know how I’m ultimately gonna route everything, so I keep moving stuff. It’ll be all tidied up soon enough :)
Whatreyou, a guitar nerd now? Next thing ya know yer gonna have 4 overdrives on There!

Compared to some, that's not all that bad just yet. You're aight.
