I never had an issue with any 3 Point bridge I’ve ever had, but I don’t think I’m super fussy about em either. I have a Hipshot on one now because I wanted chrome. Turns out it’s a super nice bridge

Depending on your strings, you may end up with silk on the E & A saddles, but a ball end over the string makes a good spacer and you’re good to go.
Hiphot bridges are nice though!

I haven't had problems with 3-points, and I haven't noticed a huge difference between the sound with one of those or a Babicz. The reason I like the Babicz better is partly shallow - I like the way they look. Another reason is that I like to adjust everything too much. I probably shouldn't be allowed to have a Babicz for that reason, because I'm always making some little adjustment. Because I can get the intonation just that eyelash better, not because it really needs it. Finally, I like the way a Babicz feels when you touch it, and I don't much care for the way a 3-point feels. A Babicz feels like a real industrial machine made product with a high level of precision about it. A 3-point feels more like a bathtub toy of some kind by comparison.

I suspect Gibson got Babicz bridges for a huge discount, otherwise they would be using something else.

The left margin is the Washington coast and you might make out Pt Angeles in the distance, the land across the center is Vancouver Island, with Victoria, B.C., barely visible.View attachment 2968699

That's a spectacular part of the world. I'm guessing you took that from somewhere near the Jamestown S'klallam center. I can't say enough good things about their vision for that area and how they are going about realizing it.

We went into that shop yesterday. They have lots of beautiful furniture, but I had the feeling they were selling to people with more money than God and 'taking the piss' with their prices.

The three point bridge is a cast pot metal POS. Those who embrace it have been feed mediocrity for so long they don't know any different. there I said it, I'll head for cover now.

True. But some of us that have embraced the three point did so as a step up from a Fender bent piece of poopiemetal with two kinda intonatable threaded rods called saddles each equipped with randomly self adjusting set screws to more or less set string height. Talk about your POS.

Honestly... I wouldn't replace a bridge (or anything else for that matter), just for the sake of replacing it. I'll wait & see if the bass needs it or not. The Goth definitely would've benefited from a bridge that allowed for individual string height adjustment. Same with the BlueBird. If my next 'bird sets up & plays well with a 3 point... it'll most likely keep it.

A bridge just has to work satisfactorily... myself I'm becoming more of the opinion that if I can get enough good out of it to actually play to some satisfaction, I don't look at it anymore.
One good thing about living lean is you're not as distracted from the music by the shiny things!

At least if you break a string the saddle doesn't fall out. Honestly I think the 7ender bridge is far superior to the three point.
