“Sound check is over, had some fun, waste of time for everyone”

At least if you break a string the saddle doesn't fall out. Honestly I think the 7ender bridge is far superior to the three point.
I can see that. Fortunately I've never broken a bass string. Guitar string, yes, never a bass string though. But I can't tell you how many times I was playing a Fender and mid song I'm fretting out and off key, only to find the stinking set screw on the saddle had slipped a few threads.

Listening to Cracker and have a sudden impulse to wear boots.

I'm assuming these are the mods boots. But that raises an interesting point - it would be interesting to see a pic of each club members favorite gig shoes. I'm kinda busy right now, but I'll post my Tony Lamas in the morning.

No, those are the Kat's boots. The Mod wouldn't be seen dead in western boots (... giving me an idea).

These days my go to gig shoes would probably be Adidas canvas high tops or Spring Court lambskins.

That would seriously bite.:(

Agreed. I far prefer the earlier style of Fender bridges with the threaded saddles, I like the ability to adjust string spacing. The three point is...less than stellar.

I'VE never broken a bass string either. However,a clarinet player in the concert band knocked a music stand into the nylon tape wound strings on my AGB 200. The G string didn't break but it unraveled right down to the bridge. No matter what fret I fingered it at,it said"thwip"-no pitch, just"thwip". Next day I found out you can't buy single tapewounds.:poop:

I don't play out, but when I am off to a Slayer or Guns N Roses show, this is my footwear of choice.
