And while i say that, i'd really dig one of these. They've been posted before. There are a few here that may have this type.

I finally pulled my finger out and enquired about a sparkle finish from a guitar finisher ... $AUD650 (~$USD500).

I sent the same question to the smash repairs and custom paint shop down the street. We'll see.
You probably already know this but there is usually a significant price difference for finishing a bass body with the neck removed (bolt on) vs a bass body with the neck attached (neck through). Most places in the US are about $300 for body sans neck or about $500 for body with the neck attached (possibly more if you want the neck or headstock painted also).

... and the answer is Warmoth. $265 for a fuschia flake finish.

Transport costs included ?

Hard to do better than that for an obnoxiously blingy finish.

The next question is does it want a nice slab of pearloid on it, or no PG for maximum in your face fuschia flake eye-ache?

I vote:
with pearloid
With chrome

Kat - ya gotta have a pick guard with that finish!
I'd suggest a hard rockin Hello Kitty guard...
