Masters are SS

So i'm looking at all the string types listed on the inside of the packaging. According the gauge, their listed as custom balanced round wound stainless.
But it doesn't anywhere, clearly say if they are BB's, they're for sure not the Rock Masters. Cause that's the first list of types of strings, and they don't come in the gauge i have.
So, long story short, they're Stainless, which is fine by me. I have yet to put them on because i crashed out the second i got home. Just got up.
Now which bass to put them on?

Imagine Veronica in the lead in full stage attire with the new white Eppi Bird mini skirt on and thigh high black leather boots over fishnets waiving a rainbow flag and yelling back to the group, "now keep up kids, don't dilly dally, spot spot". And being followed by the TBird clan all wearing kilts or skirts, some with butt bows, some with coconuts. And Christine bringing up the rear sporting a lovely new black wig and floor length tobacco burst frock. LOL a sight I'd love to see (and even be part of)!

Here's my thought, we all know what happens when i think. Since there's a fresh set of Cobalt flats on the Whitey, and dead ones on the Burst, i'll move the fresh ones over to the Burst and the rounds will go, well............

I would encourage you to put 'em on the BurstBird. You've had it longer, and are more familiar with it.

Ok, they're on. i'm not impressed though. Was expecting bright and twangy. They sound huge but lack, to me anyway, the steel brightness.
And that lousy E string, the silks don't go far enough down, so i've got unsilked string wrapping onto the post. Let alone, the E sounds dead off the gate.

Honestly, the fresh flats sound better.

If yer lookin' for opinions... I'd say, ditch the Lowrey & the Wurlitzer, but keep the Hammond

Try playing the other one, get the EQ for the sound you want, then go back to the new strings and fiddle with it. If you still don't get the tone you're looking for, wire cutters and chalk it up to experience. Sometimes things just don't work.

Been doing that. Biggest problem is the E. With part of the full wrap of the string onto the post, it's killing the sustain. And the E was pretty lifeless to begin with.
It's cool. Only way to find out is try. But i'm most likely going to go to the Cobalt rounds. Always had great success with them.

I had used D'Addario half rounds back in the '80s and loved them. Put on a set maybe a year ago, left 'em on a month-if that-and took them off and went to chromes. Happy!

I like Chromes a lot. Tried the half rounds once a while back, not on a Bird though. Didn't work for me.

When I had the half rounds on, I was playing thru a fridge. That's long gone. Maybe it was that combination.
