Thunderbird Club

I put on so much weight while looking after mum, mostly drinking wine at night for stress relief. Now I'm on a diet from hell trying to lose it, trouble is all I want to do is eat :roflmao: Best bet is to cut back and lose it slowly, I would but I just put on too much weight to quickly
I started a diet 2 weeks ago. So far I've lost 14 days:smug:

But with two day's warning you can get out of dodge...
That plan only works for the first couple of false warnings (maybe one or two years). After that it's a Hurricane party! Which is how people get killed, and it's still only a fraction of the party crowd that dies, many more live to tell about it.

I lived in tornado alley. When the sirens went off we didn't dive for cover. We went outside to see if we could spot it. A safe space was only used if it was certain to pass over or with in a couple of blocks of your house.

That's the advantage with earthquakes, the only false warnings you get are the smaller quakes (less than 6.0) and all that tells you is the killer quake hasn't hit yet. It eventually will but it could be today or 50 years from now. Worrying about dying in an earthquake in California (where we generally have good sisemic building codes) should be fairly low on the list. There are statically a lot more events one should worry about first - like crossing the street or taking a bath or possibly drinking Starbucks fecal coffee. ;)

I don't think it takes nearly as long to get out of a Porsche :cigar:
LOL - driving in SoCal is quite an experience. It's like everyone and their brother drives a white pickup or SUV. If my time comes while I'm driving one of my Porsches (what a way to go) I'm fairly certain that I'll be surrounded by vehicles two or three times my vehicles height. With any luck, if pancaked in an overpass I'll be untouched.

I went on a road trip through Europe a few years ago, ending with a week in italy visiting Venice, Rimini, Rome and Pompeji in July... Man, that was hot... :meh:
Venice is a town isn't it? Nothing like that place anywhere, so commercialised but there is beauty everywhere you look. These are despite all there is in Venice my favourite photos
