Funny thing, I’d ordered something else as an appetizer, the snails showed up! My family dared me to eat them, smothered in garlic, butter and seated on a mushroom. They were quite good, definitely not slimy

My experience as well.
I've had them prepared many ways but sauté and seated on a mushroom is my favorite. They have a tendency to taste like whatever they're cooked in and very similar in texture and color to the mushroom they're sitting on. I'm not fond of them extracted cooked and then placed back on the shell for presentation, nor am I fond of them cooked and served alone as a side dish as is frequently done in Japan. The watchout is that occasionally you'll get one that hasn't been cleaned thoroughly enough, which leaves it a bit sandy when you bite into it, not good.

It will not have the T-Bird Logo. I xerox copied that on and enlarged it slightly. Then I ordered a piece of Abalone Inlay (a square blank. Large enough to trace that T-Bird onto it. Cut it out with a set of very sharp scissors. Bought a new pair of Hair Cutting Scissors. And then just glued into the guard with super glue. Since the Inlay material is so thin, it doesn't stick up much, to get caught on anything.

I also cut circles of the same inlay, and glued into the knob recess tops.

The knob position dot markers are tiny blue sapphires, that are inset in a slight hole drilled to just countersink the stone in. Held in with a drop of super glue. nBetter lighting would help the photos.

With warm baguette and copious amounts of Chinon, unbeatable.
French, Italians and Spaniards will pretty much eat anything that crawls and why not? It’s free. It’s easy and cost effective to farm snails and you get free protein in exchange.

When living in Paris, I used to get a kick out of going to antique shops in Le Marais (4th Arrondisement) and looking at Parisian menus of the mid 19th century (during the Franco Austrian War) to see that they would eat most things we would not consider today due to the sieges and rationing.

The funniest car name I ever saw was a Chevy Impala with the license "VLAD." That made me laugh almost as much as a black Mercedes with the license "GODS CAR." I don't know if the second one was a reference to Janis Joplin or if the owner was just religious and missed the connection. Either way, both made me laugh a lot. And both were in the same parking lot. If it didn't happen, I wouldn't have believed it.

After a posting similar to yours (above), I was shown that I was appreciated here, and reminded that not everybody is always gonna "get" my sense of humor, and that not everybody thinks the same way, and that occasional misunderstandings are inevitable. If you made your posting with a clear conscience and a good heart... you have to be able to expect a certain degree of understanding from your fellow club members, and each of us should be able to handle little misunderstandings in a mature, respectful manor. If (for instance) 20 people read a posting, and only 1 person sees something "wrong" with it... I think a certain amount of introspection should be considered by that person. I, for one, have thoroughly enjoyed your return, and would be disappointed by your absence or unnatural restraint. You belong here with us, and you make this a better place!
