I have yet to see a Duff in person, but the original Jazz Special's are great basses. I would rather have the JS than the Duff because you can get a vintage bass for a lot less than a new model.

They are quite difficult to find, even the Duff Sig actually. It pops up in stores every once in a while but not for long. The 80's j-special is the goldmine for that era.
On another note, i don't think the Queen will enjoy knowing we're discussing about the Enemy in a good way![]()

Here's a pic of my Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV. When I first got it, I was on vacation in Destin, Florida and I spotted it in a pawn shop! I just had to have it, and I ended up walking out of the shop with it for $250! This was right after I got it, obviously it needed some humidification on the neck and it needed setup adjustments on the neck really bad too! I took it home wrapped up in blankets in my family's mini van since I didn't have a case and when I got home I got it set up and now it plays like a dream!

Here's a few pics of me playing it! The first one is me playing it with some friends, we were jamming and having a blast. Second one is me playing with my short lived band Cactus Body Slam. We did funky originals and played Fall Out Boy/My Chemical Romance covers (what a combination, huh?) and the Thunderbird did EVERYTHING with flying colors! The number of tones I can get out of this beast is insane!

Hey Nocturnal and Dadagoboi, Thanks for the help! You guys rock! Dada, when (if) I ever get tenure I'm gonna order either a JAEBird or an Explorer!Search for eBay seller clower777. He does knobs in custom colors and he may be able to help. You will find him and his multi-colored knobs if you do a search for JAT Custom as well. Ask him about the sizing. He will tell you if he thinks it will fit or not.

Hiya everyone!! I'm a Burning Bird TBird TGirl. (Phoenix, Thunderbird, Transgender.... geez, do I have to explain everything??) I'm kind of a noob on bass, but in my testosterone days I spent a LOT of gig-time hitting things with wood. I have a real pretty Epi Thunderbird IV Limited Edition, and it's def my fave bass of the 3 I've had in my life but never learned to play very well. Over time I'll be putting together a trans-band here in Phx. I play and write HR/HM, and I also like some pop and pop-punk and will one day try to write that stuff too. Main bass influences so far: Geezer, Chris Squire and Justin Chancellor (he's Squire's kid, right?). I don't hear many bassists that stand out, so my biggest influence might actually be the occasional good bassline from a song played by a bassist who I don't otherwise notice. Anywayz, I'm here to steal knowledge so I can become a bigger threat to society. And I'd like to thank TBird1958 for being so helpful right away regarding neck-dive, for starting this Thunderbird Club, for being a role model, and for giving me a great idea for a pic!! The bass is mine. The car is a neighbor's. :-(
