I trust your judgement and conclusion but I'm not seeing why the spacers would be a barrier. Can't you tape the spacers to the body and the cover to the spacer? Is it that you don't think that taping them that way will be robust enough for a trial period?
won't the tape leave residue on the finish?
 
No, got worse, she got discharged at 19:30 and was back in at 6:00 with a severe allergic reaction to something, sounds trivial but it was very scary yesterday morning, she came home late afternoon but she's in bed sleeping continually more or less since

More of a pain in the ass… or me being lazy… not impossible though.
 
My right shoulder hurts when i play a T Bird, so I wrap the straparound the bout and the pain goes away. See pic.
