Good grief... this road to recovery is a bit bumpy isn't it. So sorry.
We'll get there her arm is not hurting as much today and the rash that appeared yesterday morning has calmed very slightly, the breathing difficulty has completely gone thankfully, at least things are going in the right direction even if they don't know what happened

DiCola pickups? Never heard of those. My 2013 sounded pretty good stock. Wonder if it had those pickups as well They did have that issue of one of the screws coming undone.

Those looked so good in the Guitar Player ads. One model even had a three band graphic EQ.
I tried one at a store and it felt like an M-60 when strapped on..
Seems the only guys that liked them were the country guys. Saw a whole bunch of those on Roy Clarke's Hee Haw

2013 Thunderbirds had 'Bird pickups, whatever Gibson was making at the time. DiCola pickups look like MusicMan pickups and are a whole lot bigger than anything else that was put into a Thunderbird. They aren't as big as mudbuckers.

Here it is Monday now, and I'm still marveling at how good the 2001 sounded. It's bone stock with the exception of a Babicz bridge (thanks Wolfkeller!) and Black Beauties. It has a new ding on it that I just noticed on Saturday night. Beats me when it got bumped, but there's a hole in the finish below the lower strap lock. I must have bumped the high-hats or something. It will eventually look a whole lot worse before I'm done playing it.
Those only came stock on the 2015 Tbird and some EB's.

If it wasn't for the 2001 that was sprinkled with pixie dust, it would be my favorite bass. As it is, I play it a whole lot. Mine has a peculiar dead spot at about C# or D depending on the day on the G string, but I can work around that for the most part. That's a quirk of the specific instrument, not a problem with the year or model. You can get all kinds of sounds out of it, from a pretty close 7ender impersonation to full-on 'Bird thunder. If you can grab one at a decent price, you would be crazy not to.
All that chrome looks killer! I just can't imagine myself being able to play with all that stuff in the way! I'd like to try a T-bird with covers, to see how it would be...
That looks awesome but I'd use double sided tape to tape them down and try playing it that way before I committed to screwing them down. It might not be to your liking.
Not a bad idea but the problem is that the spacers underneath the covers might make it hard to tape.
I trust your judgement and conclusion but I'm not seeing why the spacers would be a barrier. Can't you tape the spacers to the covers and the covers plus spacers to the body? Is it that you don't think that taping them that way will be robust enough for a trial period?
