That right there is the beginning of a great hoagie made right (with the oil on the bread, not on the toppings). Throw in some meat and I'm right there with ya!

Don't know if I used to be cannibal in a previous life but for some reason a meal just isn't complete for me unless there's meat in it. Don't care if its beef, pork, fowl or fish as long as there's meat, every single meal. Love my veggies and fruit as well, along with most cheeses, pastas and some breads. But without meat, she's not complete!
That along with the red wine and G&Ts we definitely should be mates :)

I've eaten every kind of steak in just about every major country in the world. The good old USA hands down does it best. I'd say our culinary contribution to the world is a massive 28 ounce prime rib steak cooked medium rare, smothered in its own juice with a grapefruit sized stuffed (butter, sour cream, chives, and bacon) baked potato, tossed side salad with oil and vinegar dressing, and bottle of fine Nappa or Colombia Valley wine, followed by key lime, lemon meringue or apple pie and a cup of black coffee. Actually, that's what I had for dinner last night.

Fvck off! You never ate all that???????? :woot: I'd have to have my stomach pumped after half of that :roflmao: You're not the guy off "Man vs food" by any chance are you? :roflmao:

Nope, never ever heard of tomato sandwiches. Most people in these parts just slice them in half, sprinkle a bit of salt and eat, sans the bread.

That’s nice - more for Roma (or egg) tomatoes than ‘normal’ tomatoes

BLT is nearly the same thing and very popular in the states.

Yeah, I think BLT is a bit different. I do enjoy them also. I also enjoy a BLAT, a BELT and even a BLEAT on occasion.

Good point. It's been taken to mean "cooking outdoors, usually on a grill". Barbecue is the meal itself, originally from Caribbean Islanders who dug a "pit" to cook the leftover cuts of meat. Today the pit can be man made rather than a hole in the ground. Cooking burgers, hot dogs, or shrimp on an outdoor grill(e) ain't REAL BBQ.
Doesn't the American BBQ refer more to the slow cooking method, what we'd refer to as a BBQ you call a grill?

Sign me up. Epiphone Thunderbird IV. My first dance into the TBird world. So far, loving the tone of this bass! My only gripe is the low tension E string. Not sure what the gentleman before me put on here, but the action is great so I'm afraid to change the strings to something like a set of 50-110. Any suggestions? Hard to get a proper luthier to set it up, closest is about an hour away.
Hi MrKeef, welcome to the culinary centre of TB.

No idea what's on yours but my E string is quite tight using Rotosound 66, your's sound like a very light gauge. Anyway welcome to the Tbird club and please do join in if only to dilute the rubbish this lot spout day in day out :)

OI! I heard that!! Bunch of bar stewards they are :roflmao:

You can tell his dad never owned a bike! That make me feel so proud to be Welsh :bawl:

We have our own flag, arguably the best flag in the world
We have our own national anthem, again arguably one of the best in the world
We have that, an English prince (insert your own insult here)

I tried to find a picture of my Welsh flag in the window of my flat on the Royal Mile (during the Six Nations a few years ago). Was good for annoying the Gaels.

Is it flown much?

No, it’s not an official flag. But plenty of merchandise and stickers on cars etc . Mostly from those with republican tendencies... my coffee mug at work is s flag mug from the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (MADE).

Bakery Hill now has a Maccas on it.

I'd fly it, we fly ours and the Glyndwr flag occasionally

Edit: I say we, my next door neighbour owns the flagpole and we share it :)

@MrKeef, it's also worth mentioning that the saddles in the three point bridge are designed to match the radius of the fretboard. They are numbered from 1 - 4.

One thing to note is they are held in by string tension only, which is fine as long as there IS tension. If you take the strings off the bass remember to keep it flat or slip some tape over the saddles to keep them in place. If this becomes a problem/annoyance, there are after market bridges from Hipshot and Babicz as well as the BadBird bridge made by our own @godofthunder59.
Oh man, I didn't know they were numbered..

Good for you, the buggers keep beating us :roflmao:

I remember (was it the Grand Slam year?) James Hook's finger being popped back in and taped on the sideline and Brian Moore commentating 'you'll never see that on a football field, they cry if they break an eyelash'. He's very short (Brian Moore) -- he was standing next to me at the Sydney gig on the last Manics/Lions tour.

Good point. I've eaten a number of steaks while in Argentina and I would classify them as a very close second to USA prime cuts. The biggest difference to me was the sauces and seasonings they used, excellent by any standard. However, when I'm eating a prime cut I don't want the flavor of the meat to be secondary to the sauces used.

Kobe beef on the other hand has never impressed me in the slightest. If I wanted to spend $500 on a melt in your mouth cut of beef that would fit in the palm of a 12 year old girls hand I'd go to France. Prime cuts of beef should be served in excess (the come from a 1000 pound steer, not a 90 pound lamb) they should nearly cover an entire dinner plate (filet mignon exception). When some fancy schmancy chef pre slices quarter inch thick cuts of a two inch by four inch micro slab of melt in your mouth Kobe beef I'm not impressed in the slightest. If I wanted my meat pre cut for me I'd ask my mommy, if I wanted a steak appetizer that could hide under a tea cup I would have ordered one, and if I wanted to pay for three meals and walk away hungry I'd move to France. Nope, give me a Kansas or Texas cut of prime any day.
I hear you. When in BA I usually go to La Chacra or La Cabana where chimichurri is always served on the side and never used in the grilling process. The Bife de Lomo is my favorite steak in the world.
