No, it’s not an official flag. But plenty of merchandise and stickers on cars etc . Mostly from those with republican tendencies... my coffee mug at work is s flag mug from the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (MADE).

Sign me up. Epiphone Thunderbird IV. My first dance into the TBird world. So far, loving the tone of this bass! My only gripe is the low tension E string. Not sure what the gentleman before me put on here, but the action is great so I'm afraid to change the strings to something like a set of 50-110. Any suggestions? Hard to get a proper luthier to set it up, closest is about an hour away.

That's one of those peculiarly American things -- potato crisps with sandwiches -- possible because there're not sufficient carbohydrates in the bread or salad.

One of the best American inventions* is putting potato chips IN the sandwich.


*not sure that it is the Americans that developed this and it isn't really an invention, but I will give them credit as it is the type of thing that they would do.

There is nothing wrong with them, but I preferred:

I can't quite say why, they just sounded better to my ears. $10 better? For me, yes, but perhaps not for others.

But I now, for the most part, like round cores. At the same tension as hex cores, they just feel better.

To do a tomato sandwich correctly, The Kid said it right, the bread must be toasted. Then olive oil, salt, pepper, tomato and a light sprinkling of oregano basil. HEAVEN!

If mayo is more your speed than it can be used as a substitute for the olive oil. optional in place of butter on the toast.

Actually the bite by bite intake was...
Wife and I hooked up with two other couples at their house, had cheese and crackers and a couple glasses of wine.
Arrived at the resturaunt an hour later and drank a double Beefeater Gin and Tonic for a cocktail.
Ordered dinner.
Nibbled on a couple slices of sourdough bread while food was cooking.
Ate 3 of the four jumbo chilled prawns for the appetizer (gave the 4th one to another person at the table).
Ate over half of the prime rib (my typical MO, order big then cut in half and take home for another meal).
The side salad was relatively small, ate it all.
The potato was huge, ate it all (including the well salted and seasoned skin).
I brought my own bottle of wine (a Sculpterra cab) and paid a corking fee, drank the bottle.
Wife and I split a slice of hot apple pie topped with a scoop of French vanilla and drizzled in Ameretto for desert.
Drank about 3 cups of coffee and a few sips of still water.
Arrived at the resturaunt around 7:00 left a little after 10:00.
Had a great time with great friends, went back to their house and the six of us polished off 4 more bottles of wine.
Spent the night there, hit the sack around 1:00am
Got up hungry the next morning at 7:00
I fixed eggs scrambled with goat cheese, fresh picked sage and almond milk along with store bought scones and coffee.
Weighed in this morning, that 24 hour eat and drink fest added about 1.5 pounds to my weight.
I'd bet A large chunk of the calories came from the wine (estimate around a dozen large glasses of cab)
I'll loose the 1.5 pounds before next weekend by skipping a meal hear and there, no big deal.

ummmm Burger is German and sandwich is English...
