Educate me, I'm seeing a large headstock, the fingerboard looks like it has some age to it but the rest of it looks brand new. I take it that's a 60s bird? Restored or just unbelievable? That’s killing me, you know that, right?

And should use beefsteak tomatoes (other varieties are permissible but not those flavourless hot house tomatoes).

I'm sorry G, I owe you an apology for that man vs food comment, you aren't him that is plain to see, you're his hungry stunt doubleActually the bite by bite intake was...
Wife and I hooked up with two other couples at their house, had cheese and crackers and a couple glasses of wine.
Arrived at the resturaunt an hour later and drank a double Beefeater Gin and Tonic for a cocktail.
Ordered dinner.
Nibbled on a couple slices of sourdough bread while food was cooking.
Ate 3 of the four jumbo chilled prawns for the appetizer (gave the 4th one to another person at the table).
Ate over half of the prime rib (my typical MO, order big then cut in half and take home for another meal).
The side salad was relatively small, ate it all.
The potato was huge, ate it all (including the well salted and seasoned skin).
I brought my own bottle of wine (a Sculpterra cab) and paid a corking fee, drank the bottle.
Wife and I split a slice of hot apple pie topped with a scoop of French vanilla and drizzled in Ameretto for desert.
Drank about 3 cups of coffee and a few sips of still water.
Arrived at the resturaunt around 7:00 left a little after 10:00.
Had a great time with great friends, went back to their house and the six of us polished off 4 more bottles of wine.
Spent the night there, hit the sack around 1:00am
Got up hungry the next morning at 7:00
I fixed eggs scrambled with goat cheese, fresh picked sage and almond milk along with store bought scones and coffee.
Weighed in this morning, that 24 hour eat and drink fest added about 1.5 pounds to my weight.
I'd bet A large chunk of the calories came from the wine (estimate around a dozen large glasses of cab)
I'll loose the 1.5 pounds before next weekend by skipping a meal hear and there, no big deal.

What Americans mean by 'barbecue' and what the rest of the world means are entirely different.
A 'barbecue' is in outdoor cooking appliance, formerly charcoal fueled, but these days often gas or even electric. They are used for for cooking food - meat, fish, vegetables outside, at campsites or wherever. The food so-cooked is not 'barbecue'.

@TBird1958 thank you for the welcome! Seeing such a hyper active community and how highly folks speak of these basses almost has me convinced to try and seek a trade for another TBird right away. Currently have a custom made jazz bass that I adore, but thunderbirds are growing on me exponentially.
I don't own a coconut shell bra, but I have a hideous Hawaiian shirt I wear every Friday at work.Pull up a chair and enjoy yourself MrKeef, we have a bit fun here occasionally poking at the non believers out in the General Population (Genpop) and obviously get off track a little too - A well developed sense of humor, grass skirt and coconut shell bra come in handy around here.
Have to admit, I'm not Quite that Southern. It's a mental thing![]()
The usual initiation is running through your local high street wearing a butt bow and posting pictures here. We are a trusting lot and will take your word for it that you have done it; we all realise it's difficult to take pictures of yourself while runningI don't own a coconut shell bra, but I have a hideous Hawaiian shirt I wear every Friday at work.
Wouldn't be much of an issue, 10:30am on a Sunday in this town.. Maybe 2 or 3 people around the busiest section of town! We are a sleepy folk. Got my TBird (Epiphone IV) a month ago, my first upgrade from my first bass (Squire Affinity). I love it, the thing is an absolute monster.
Do any of you guys have a name for your guitar? To be honest "Thunderbird" is bad ass and iconic enough for me.

Thunderbird = The cure for the common Jazz bass!
The 3 point is no big deal. Just keep the front a little higher than the back. Yes the saddles will fall out if the bass isn’t on it’s back with the strings off. It’s not catastrophic when it happensWell, you're not wrong. I've got experience with normal bridges, not these 3 point bridges. Got any resources to get me started on setting up a 3 pt bridge? Lol

Nothing like seeing a 6'1" 200lb whitebread guy with a bow on his booty. Wootwoooo~Not for long![]()
