Thunderbird Club

ThunderBucker ranch has 'em for a LOT less. They aren't "vintage"-who cares?:meh: Addendum: I looked at the pix of the mute thingy. It's obviously mounted w/ 3 screws-possibly under the bridge(?) and doesn't have the felt(??)$295!!!. Use a piece of foam insulating tape under the bridge cover. No BC? tape a piece of felt Over the strings at the bridge. If it's good enough for Carol Kaye...........
I have been known to use a piece of foam, the kind you use to make padding in a case. It's a perfect bass mute. I stuff it into the ashtray on the P or just under the strings on the 'Bird when I want that effect.

I sometimes wonder if ppl around me can hear it. I have to have"white noise" on to sleep. BTW, mine is a Very high Ab.:banghead:
When I was a kid, I was around a lot of loud equipment and tractors, starting when I was 7 or 8 years old. I was convinced that I could hear electricity in the wires. It's a high pitch, almost out of range of hearing. I still hear that sound. Not all the time, and it's not loud or distracting, but now I'm sure it's due to the noisy stuff I was around. Loud engines and rock and roll couldn't possibly have anything to do with it. Nope, no way.

I've got a strip under the ashtray on the SS Jag and under the BC on the Bird. Neither one is taped- just layin' there

Oh, Hell, no. Driving 18 wheelers for 23 years had no influence either.

He's far more dedicated than I am. 15 pages back, and I just skip to the end and hope I didn't miss anything important.

You can only use that mulligan one time.

I've used that approach at least 3 times just this month but my limit is single digit page counts.

Oops, I'm twelve pages back, time to skip to the front. :roflmao:

A little something for Michael @hillerup Gibson Goth, note the the lack of nine ply!

Yeah, wasn't looking for one since I'm not going to be using the one I have. Just having a hard time believing that little thing costs significantly more than a brand new Thunderbucker...

or For Sale - Bartolini Thunderbird Pickups T4CBC OBO

might need some light modifications to go into the cavity

* Edit : Or of course, best way it's to find used Gibson pickups (but here I am already on the lookout!),
Ditto, it will slightly filing the cavity of the pickups (easy and cheap for a luthier) but you will not have better upgrade.
I thought you had a stock TBird. Why pickups?
