Thunderbird Club

Not much new going on here. You only have a few pages to catch up on...
Damn, doesnt the Queen ever shut down this club down for maintenance?. Its like when I log into TB everything is cruizing smooth and when I enter the Birdcage my computer drops into first gear as it enters a steep incline through mud and stop signs.:jawdrop:

It's kind of a hassle, yeah. I just know that in a more perfect world I'd be using them.
And now it's either the MB212 or the cab mod plan.

Cab mod. Can't deal with another amp flavor at this point. Because I persevorate on every element. Lol, it gets dense with activity up there in the belfrey!

Hey got a quick scenario for yall to mull over, if it catches interest...
I have a pair of shelf-ported cabs, 2.25 cu ft int volume. My E140s came in them, but they're way small for those.
I'm thinking about a mod to make the baffles accomodate a nice pair of 12s, and use them instead of the E140s. Then I've got a nice little stack at 4 ohms that I can stand my 370 on-end next to, and get that nice sound I've been digging. Also my little TE AH250SMX will sit on top of them in a tidy fasion.
I dunno. This'd make me modular for many uses, very portable, the trick is getting the right 12s. Of course I'll be losing the E140s, but hey, I'm a fool, and I know I'm a fool.

Small and very flexible, which suits me as sometimes things get busy and varied. Losing the JBLs is a little disappointing, but trying to have everything might not work as well as just having my act functionally together.

Any thoughts?
Sounds like a proper HOLD MY BEER moment in the making. I approve. It has a much higher chance of success than the tower of jank I have in progress.

One bass o Uwe's I really like a lot was the Q 80, I know, kind of an FSO, but way more bad$#&. This thing had a very aggressive tone that begged to played loud with a pick - unexpected love affair!

Not the only thing I'm full of!

That was Thunderbird heaven, and the early '60s ones weren't even there that day.

US Speaker is where I'll be getting drivers for the tower of jank.
Talk to Al. We just spoke, we're looking at the cabs' tuning, talking about Beyma 12s, maybe some Faital 15s if they'll like that small a box, maybe I can retune the shelf port.
He modeled the box on the spot with info I gave him. Still working it out.

Did he say where they were and why they weren't there? Just curious...

I was going ask about the bound and blocked Bird, Was that one there?,

These are the basses at his office, there are more at his home, he's had some custom cases made to display them. The Bound and Blocked one was at the office, I played it but somehow neglected to shoot a pic - D'oh!
