It's been a "thing" the last number of years for Fender to make a Gibson-like product as if no-one would notice...

I have not paid any attention to their offerings for some time now, that's not so attractive (I have to be diplomatic) to me.

Hands down the stupidest design ("concept" is giving it too much credit) Fender ever produced. Leo would roll over in his grave.

Totally the wrong approach, it should be celebrated as the greatest 7ender design ever, never again would those 7ender fans ever mutter the word "neckdive". Mind you, perhaps they should have called it the "Lemming" or the "Kamikaze" maybe even the the "rotator"?

Darn near. I think the only box Gibson/Eppi didn't check off with the TBird is the fretless box. But that's easily solved. Other than that, the Bird can deliver the goods in just about any setting, but don't bother telling the Fender fanboys that, they won't believe you.

I still have a Fender P Bass. It's iconic, I just prefer the bird!

Yes sir it is! We have an agreement with the owner to only play there. We play once every 2-3 months, and the Spillway is pretty convenient having their own house PA and sound man. Our band is Uncle Jack. Who is your friend and what band does he perform with? We’ve been playing Bowling Green for nearly 20 years, good chance I’ll know them.

His name is Steve Robertson and he plays guitar with Rusty Tymes. I went to high school with him. His band seems to play Spillway quite a bit.

There was another gal, went to "The U" that had a Corvair. She'd drive around, find guys with hot cars and race them. Watched her beat a 'Vette one night. Turned out her BF had shoehorned a FI 327 into the Front of it, put a "pan" where the flat 6 had been and had concrete blocks in the back to keep the tires on the ground. Only hot car I ever drove was a friend's "Mustang"-which happened to be a Shelby GT500

The Corvair I would kinda like is one with a Vette motor shoehorned into the back seat. Not much stealth because you can see it. Also a bear to work on. Cant have everything.

There was a guy in Miami that came to the old dragstrip in '64 - Had a Henry J w/ 2 421 Buicks in the back.

Finally rejoining the club. My Dingwall Dbird just arrived at the dealer this weekend and is headed my way in a week (have to go out of town for a few days, so delaying shipment as I don't want it sitting in a hot warehouse over a weekend or on my doorstep).

Zebrawood Tuesday.
One of 400 part of Gibson's Guitar of the Week from a few years back. I like the black hardware on this specific bass, it looks right. As I recall Uwe thought it a bit subdued compared to a standard Thunderbird, I didn't really notice any difference though.

Dunno. I tried going back in time a couple of years on their site. I don't remember when I last noticed it being an option. They wanted too much $$ anyway but it was interesting to see what it woulda looked like
