I don't know about where you are but around here tube guitar amplifier repair is rare and well sought after.
Musicians commute long distances to get their gear serviced.

And I've got a dozen highly rated places to go within driving distance of me. One of the cool things about Nashville to counteract the hipsters and horrible traffic.

Great idea, maybe even a dually idea?... but it's about feeling like I have time to do it, plus the expense of void-free 1/2" ply... I'm starting to consider it though.

Yeah, it had all Gibson running gear. Not as good looking though. Back in the day, the monthly Guitar Trader flyer had tons of them for under 200 bucks.

Cannot believe the condition of that instrument! Looks almost brand new! Congratulations.

I bought it right after my '63 II was stollen in '78 for $700 from a vintage dealer back east. I wanted the IV they also had (also all original) but it costed $50 more and I couldn't afford it. (true - $50 was a lot of money back then!) It was a 'closet classic' in OHSC with both covers and brass mute w/white felt pads. Most all the dings and scratches (not a lot but there are a number of them) are mine. I still rock it at rehearsals and the occasional live gig - nothing sounds like it.

The judges will accept that answer, though Ponch's performance was only a small part of the nail-biting episode of CHiPs entitled "Battle of the Bands"! Rabble-rousing punks broke into a van full of musical equipment belonging to "Snow Pink" (played by Susan Richardson), and sent it careening down a hill towards a busy public beach (those darn no-goodnicks)!
