Back to the quest to house my E140s. Played them yesterday pm, and heard something beautiful trying to get out of those tiny boxes they came in. I can't have that, and I really do love sound over convenience. After all the cussing and engineering to move a cumbersome box, the right frequency/volume mix puts me right where I want to be. And I grow weary of remorse.

Bring on the big box... photos upon acquisition. And then, the re-birding process... that's going to take a while.

I have given the 69 Precision honorary Thunderbird status. It just works really well for this gig.

Back in the 70s the hockey players smoked too. But for all of them, not while playing. With golf and curling, you can participate and drink and smoke simultaneously; and if you can't, you ain't doing it right.

I'm with @GBassNorth that smoking and drinking is a "sport" unto itself.

And with the sport of golf, not only can you drink and drive but they have beautiful beer cart gals that roam the course with beer, mixed drinks and shots just in case your supply is running low....

Looks like a fantastic time! I don't recall if McVie ever performed with a Thunderbird but he did a number of songs with P basses. Here's a neat little TB thread showing a number of basses he used during his career....
The many Basses of John McVie
Interesting reading and neat pics from the GenPop of all places.

John did use a non reverse Thunderbird, stripped natural 60s Precision and a modded 70s Tele bass among many others. I have all three on the road most times.

Let me guess - mid 80's? The diamond shaped pu reminds me of the made-in-Japan for only one year Fender Performer (mid year '85-mid year '86)... but it never came in purple. It did come in Alien Green (my name for it!) I owned this one for a while - it's a pretty cool 24 fret, narrow fb bass.

Same year Fender/Squier produced the 32" scale Katana - just because everyone wanted pointy basses then...

The Gibson is from 1987, one of one made by Wayne Charvel, cool batwing headstock and pre-war Gibson script logo!

What about building/buying 2 115 Fearful cabs(or 1 215)and putting your spkrs in them/it?
