Not Bass related per-say, but many years ago a band mate gave me this 1976 Pioneer reciever. I finally got around to having it fixed, and it sounds great. A lot of vintage audio isn’t worth restoring, but these units were well reguarded. They can fetch good coin. Remember when everyone had a stereo set at home?
Now it’s all in your mobile device and played through earbuds and Bluetooth speakers. Not saying that’s nessesarily a bad thing, but still. Tepus Fugit.

I still have a record player, a Denon power amp, and a pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers that are all more than 30 years old. I actually bought a vinyl record yesterday, too. Tempus Stoppit sometimes, too.

I love playing that on the upright. I have never quite figured out how to get the clicky on a 'Bird or any other bass guitar.

Wow!!, what a cool post! Marantz, Rotel and Mcintosh come to mind. There was some really awesome gear back then, and still is today if found/restored in good working order.

Too cool.

I had a component system in the mid 70s. I don't remember everything , but there was Dynaco, AR and other stuff that slips my mind. Not the speakers,though. I ran the signal into a pair of Altec Voice of the Theater utility cabs left over from the PA of a group I'd been in. the sound was outrageous.:D

Of course it's bass related....don't you listen to your favorite bass parts on that?...doesn't it have a "bass" control?.....It's bass related.

Must be cool to have that much time between songs...do you go through an A/B switch?

These were renowned for their tuners. It’s like turning the knob on a bank vault. So smooth and weighted. And no plastic scrolling switches and menus. You throw that dedicated switch like you’re launching a Titan ICBM. Duck and cover!

Actually, we keep the music going pretty well, without too much time or bantering between songs. We do write a set list and keep to it, so we write in a couple of very short breaks for our singer to chat with the crowd while I change basses.

My first hifi was a pioneer from around that time, it's where my love of hifi started. I hate mobile devices for serious listening, anyone like us who have spent some time alongside a drum kit should know why :)
