I am definitely not qualified to answer this! The BlueBastard was supposed to be my first pickup swappin' job. It ended up being a complete rewire! Folks told me to find a wiring diagram online (sounds simple enough... right?). Well... it took 5 different diagrams (and 5 different wiring jobs) before I found one that actually worked correctly! It was a frustrating and time consuming process for a noob like me!Thanks
Blend is a new one on me, how is it wired up?
The blend pot is kinda like 2 stacked volume pots. There's a detent at the center of the sweep range. When you're on the detent, both pickups are on full. As you roll clockwise, the volume decreases on the bridge pup. As you roll counter-clockwise, the volume decreases on the neck pup.

Why the need to remove the strings? Never had to on a StingRay, loosen just a bit if anything.

You should be loosening your strings to adjust the truss anyway to save the threads on it. I like to flex the neck a bit too at the same time so they don't get put under any pressure while adjusting
I'm looking at the range of Nordstrand preamps, some of them have a blend option on them and come prewired (suits me fine). You can run them passive or active with a push/pull of the volume knob. Ah, ok, i see what you're saying. I was meaning for the wheel at the heel to be of the StingRay type. Since this is going to be a neck through, there's no removing the neck, hence the easy access to the wheel.
Don't know, I do like what I've heard from the Nordstrand DC4 pups, active is just another option with them, albeit an expensive one. They even come with different winding choices for parallel/series wiring
...I'm just thinking we can save half a pound of weight to open up the world of birds to those wimp like fellows who hate to play anything that weighs more than a pink fluffy toy
That's a very neat Warwick and Spector design feature. I have both and love them but I'm not really sold on the cost/benefit ratio of the curved body feature. It's a lot of work that really doesn't seem to make that much difference in actual daily use.

But it does, I find it more comfortable. Incidentally, always wondered if Warwick ran into infringement issues with with Spector when they released the Streamer model..
That's quite a bit different to what I'm envisaging, they seem to have kept the body thickness just bent it for ergenomics. What I'l thinking is to use the curve to reduce a bit of weight by making the centre (end of the neck) thinner and a little thinner on the wings. With the Tbird design it isn't much work at all, most of the curve can be created by angling the vee joint a little so the wings naturally kick back, the rest can be planed to shape in about 5 minutes.
I think given the reception though it probably is a non starter for a tbird given they usually are played low and the neck high. Ah well it was worth a thought and it cheered me up for an hour or so

I took ( a ridiculous ) 4 basses to that show! I played the purple '76 for two sets, the Lull for the third. The Greco came along for a three song arc of de tuned songs and I used my Washburn AB 20 for three songs as well. Ahhh..........choices!
