Thunderbird Club

Yup, me too.
Ok guys. I tried those on my P and didn’t care for them. In all honesty, I probabaly didn’t leave them on long enough to give the a real try. Went back to Chromes which are perfect for that bass. I’m sure I still have them (somewhere, I moved all my bass stuff in January) and will give them a shot on the ‘15 Bird, which I call my “all around tone monster.” Thanks for the input.

@Gaolee Do you have Cobalt flats on your 2015 'bird?

That’s right, @Gaolee has a ‘15. He is a baseball guy, as well as a Bird guy, so I’ll certainly trust what he says. Thanks Fix.

Those are good points to consider, because they are a quirky animal indeed. Not sure I’m even totally happy with mine to be honest. It just may go towards a tube amp or a different bass. And they are a try before you buy.
Hey fwiw I'd love to hear about it if you sell your Ric, like if it's down the road apiece. I'm busted now, but things change...

Those are great strings that I bought as a gag. Looking at another set of Cobalt Flats next, but rhe Beauties were just fine. Maybe my fav rounds at this point.

I liked the black beauties enough that I put red devils on the JC. I wanted to like cobalt flats, but they hurt my fingers. I subscribe to the theory that the flat winding separates a bit under tension causing micro-incisions for some of us.

Covers or originals? What type of gigs do you play?
I think it would be a lot of fun, but way more fun with an audience!
Edit: we typed at the same time

No gigs yet as we are still nailing down a drummer. Had a bit of a false start with the first one and he isn't returning messages so take it he is passing. Another is lined up and super ready to get started so we are supposed to meet him this week. Expecting to play the dive circuit here in Phoenix. There are several places we can play due to knowing people. I really hope we get out of the jam pad!!!

Excellent! Add some Clash! What NY Dolls do you play? Most underrated, influential, American Band of the seventies, IMO. I hear Thunders every day as he is always on rotation on Little Steven’s SiriusXM station.

For the Dolls we are only doing Pills and Lonely Planet Boy. We go straight to Lonely Planet Boy at the end of Thunders Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory. Also playing Thunders Chinese Rocks and She's so Untouchable. I listen to the Underground Garage a lot as well!
