As I'm sure you're aware... there are a lotta unknowns that make that a tough question to answer without more specific details about the kind of sound yer goin' for. As for me... I haven't found a round wound that I like more than DR Hi-Beams, but I'm kinda romantically involved with Cobalt flats at the moment:)

Just do it, I've only ever played punk and that's what I'm doing now, well post punk gothic to be precise, it’s just good fun and when I screw up well who cares

Yeah, our singer has done everything to screw our band and the rest of us are done.
He refused to let us have acsess to the band Facebook page.
He refused to do targeted advertising for gigs.

He didn't want a great guy to be rythym guitarist because he used to be a lead singer.

We took a guy that cancelled two major gigs that were paying 1500$ each.

He refused to help break down our PA last show.

The rythym player that just joined leas month said he can't work with him.

We gave an ultimatum, either we get new singer or the drummer, rythym player and I would form a new cover band. Lead guitarist said he's done and focusing on his solo material.

We are cool with the bands we are booked with so don't want to cancel gigs. Also, our last show was booked by me and he's put money into advertising the show.

Don't want to screw a good promoter. Unlike my singer, i look a this as a business and try and act like a pro. When a band is dead, time to move on. Have other auditions coming up. Two original bands, a Nirvana tribute and a real good guy who wants to do a Pantera tribute, he's endorsed by Dean. Will see what works out, but done with people that don't want to be put heart and soul into this, no matter if it's a 100$ a night gig or 1000$ nigjt gig

The Duff bass is up on classified for sale or trade.

Have you tried NYXLs? I tried them and thought very well of them. But I'm currently on Black Beauties.

So far Bowie/Ziggy, Mott, Johnny Thunders, NY Dolls, Alice Cooper, T Rex, and several others. Also working on plenty of original numbers. We are also learning some of them as acoustic numbers so we can be more "diverse". Haha

I played hardcore punk in the early 80’s: ala Black Flag/Dead Kennedy/DOA, but I’ve gotten into a bunch of different stuff in the meantime. The punk/heavy music is always in me, and it comes out no matter what I play:smug:

Excellent! Add some Clash! What NY Dolls do you play? Most underrated, influential, American Band of the seventies, IMO. I hear Thunders every day as he is always on rotation on Little Steven’s SiriusXM station.

I put EB Cobalts on my Epi Bird 5er. Their slogan is "feel like flats, sound like rounds". I'm happy:)
