The Squire Jag SS is a fantastic mod platform. The Split P pup sounds great but the bridge Jazz pup is anemic at best. I dropped a custom John East preamp in mine and it's now a killer bass. Each individual pup now has a discrete two band preamp all wired through a stacked master volume blend stack with stereo output. There's an easy magnet fix for the Jazz pup that boosts the volume considerably but if I were going to replace the pups I'd go with a Geezer set.
I have, but it's been so long ago I don't really remember any of the specifics. I suspect there's a reason that I pretty much always used the SVT with the Berg 610 and if I had to guess I'd say the SVT plays better with sealed cabs like the NV610 vs vented cabs with tweeters like the HT322. If you let me know what exactly you're after I can plug the SVT into the 322 and let you know how it sounds. Again, IIRC the 322 played much better with high power SS or hybrid heads. I'm currently using the Thunderfunk 420 but have used the Musicman HD150, Aggie DB750 and the Carvin B1500. If you can find a clean B1500 or a Thunderfunk 420 or 550 just grab em, they're nearly half the price of an SVT and pack a lot more bang for the buck.
I was pretty much sold on the Cobalt flats (hated the Cobalt rounds) but just recently replaced a set on my Eppi VP bird with Fender 7150's and I'm thinking I like these even better than the Cobalts. I've always been a Black Beauties fan but just didn't like how they played with the VP. The 2015 is a very different beast, probably closer in sound to my 2013 EB with the same electronics and pups. I'm running the stock Gibby strings on that one and it sounds great as is, but I'd consider some Ken Smiths to be a good replacement string. The tonal range of the 2015 is huge so a really hifi string like the KS would probably sound great on it.

Closer, I was surprised to see how people didn't know how to pronounce it even here with a lot of people resorting to calling him "G", I had imagined it was one of those universal names that everyone knew. We've herd some crackers on the news here too, Gurnt, Graint....
We just play the one bands music so it cuts down on choices but thankfully we have still got a lot to choose from. We really must bring someone along to gigs to take some pictures for us or a vid, it's a handy marketing tool in this day and age, said she who doesn't want too many gigs LOL

My kids would say I’m old, but I remember a time when newsreaders pronounced words correctly. Some of the radio news I hear on my commute don’t even get Sydney suburb or street names right. Poor.
Eg Forest Rd as ‘For - est’ ???

I know! I don't know about in Oz but here we used to have newsreaders who were very straight and unemotional who just read everything perfectly with perfect diction. I remember an interview with one of them on some chat show years later and he said he had spent ages learning how to pronounce words he would have to use on the news program. These days the news is some entertainment show where the hosts spend a lot of time joking and the pronunciations they come out with are diabolical. Those are the two extremes I know but somewhere in the middle there is a happy medium surely.
It seems to me that that is the way of things in schools these days too, here at least, Wendy was a teacher until earlier this year, the stories she used to tell me were unbelievable about the knowledge teachers had on the subjects they were teaching, she was old school 3Rs type (reading, riting and rithmatic
). One that sticks in my mind going back to pronunciation was the word "Macaw", in Welsh the letter W is pronounced "OOW" so the teacher spent the whole lesson telling young children about this bird from the rain forest caled the "macca-oow" What hope is there?

I switched from EB Slinkys to DR Hi Beams recently and I'm pretty happy. Brightened up my tone really well, and seem to have pretty good life. I had to get used to the sorta rough feel compared to the nickel smoothness, but supposedly the Hi Beams are some of the smoother playing Stainless rounds.

Hmmm. Now you got my mind working, now that its starting to come out of alcohol and late night induced inactivity. Wonder what a semi transparent black would do?
