I hope you were smarter than me and kept that Bassman. I had 2 and sold them when I got outta the biz for awhile. They'd be worth about 5K now

I wish, but sadly no. Traded it in to a music store for a Kasino 200 in ‘74. We were playing a lot of gyms on the high school “circuit” and I needed something loud. I’d like to think it is still out there somewhere. Not sure of the year, but it was a blackface... As far as bad decisions go, that isn’t anywhere close to my top ten.

Thanks! I try to keep an open mind about the modern pop stuff she likes and I’ve taken her to a few pop stadium shows. She likes rock, but this was a new experience and now she really wants to get a rock band together.

My daughter and I disagree about a lot of things: politics, FOX news and some music-but we've been to about 10 "Chicago" concerts together, 5 of them a double bill with "Earth, Wind And Fire". Pretty damn cool!

Nice. Nope, separate head and cab. Same as the Kustom, minus the tuck and roll. Took two people to load and unload. It was loud though. Sold in ‘83 for $500 when I went off to grad school. At that point, books and a girl (still married to her) were the priority.

Because I can’t justify having 3 Tbirds. I know that goes against logic, but I’m not that deep into music as a career. It’s a hobby. A fun hobby, but something tells me to let this one walk.

It's a hobby for me as well. Just now playing with people again for the first time in 20 years. I have a LOT of Birds and will add more when I can. I can't justify having more than one but I've never been one to let logic or common sense get in the way.

Ya know... it occurs to me... they're doing miraculous things with vinyl these days too. He could have a complete wrap done, and the original factory finish would remain completely unscathed

A vinyl wrap crossed my mind as well. There is a place in Tucson that makes wraps for guitars, drums, etc and those turn out really nice.

I don’t know when, of if I’ll ever play out again. What I have is to much as it is. But it helps keep me grounded to some extent. I just love music.

I love music too, it is the one constant through my whole life, when things looked bad music usually made it seem just that bit better. I went bassless for a few years after I cut the top of my finger off, I just couldn't face the idea of trying to play but I still listened, eventually Wendy bought me my Jazz bass from ebay and I haven't looked back since. Now I play in a band, it's most definitely a hobby to me, I don't want to get into the stage where we have commitments for gigs on a regular basis but still I like having more basses

My Kasino rocked. I got it really cheap. I really wanted an Accoustic (because Gary Thain used them), but I didn’t have any money to speak of and gas pretty much doubled in price overnight. To this day, every time a 360 or 370 shows up, I have this debate with myself about getting one. I don’t need it and there is no way I could ever transport it. I passed on a nice Kustom that was in Sacto about a year or so ago. But still...Seventies solid states were/are so cool...

Now I play in a band, it's most definitely a hobby to me, I don't want to get into the stage where we have commitments for gigs on a regular basis but still I like having more basses

I HAD a late 70s SVT/810 rig.We were on a 6 night a week gig so it stayed on stage. Once that gig ended, it went away PDQ.

I loved it too in my younger days, we were out nearly every night gigging somewhere about town. We really got close to breaking out into a decent level of success but then it just disappeared. Good while it lasted and we got to play with some good bands. Days gone by, it doesn't seem to work the way it used to anymore

Pretty much the same boat here - hobby player and jam with my mates. I'm a fairly logical fellow so I subscribe to the rule of only one bass being necessary. It makes perfect sense, you can only hold one bass at a time so living by the one bass rule is a no brainer. Of course that only applies to the one your holding, you can have as many as you want sitting in stands or hanging on walls or put away in cases.

I've decided to do a little experimenting. I have another set of LaBella Flats coming within the next couple days that I'm gonna try on the 'Bird. I absolutely love them on my Jazz, so now "Thunderhawk" gets a turn.

Yeah, if I had a steady gig-particularly one w/ roadies- I'd look at something large again, but right now my Rumble 200C is all I need.

When I was gigging I always took a backup bass packed in a gig bag with spare strings, cables, batteries, tools, etc. I think I only ever opened that emergency bag a couple of times but it was always comforting to know I had it there if needed.
