Thunderbird Club

LOL, NO!!! :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

I played it a couple of weeks ago and thought it sounded really different from TB's I'd played and was glad to see that you found it unique too
Yeah not your snarling, toothy Honey-Badger-like crank-plank at all. In fact it would be fantastic for the reggae gig... it's lo-mid city, which could translate nicely to reggae with a little eq. Reminds me of the Elf thing I just got last week.

We'll see what happens over the next couple days. Maybe I'll even sell off a bass for it. I really like that 'Bird.

Man... I'm doin' the same kinda thing. A local pawn shop has a Skwar Bronco bass that I could probably grab for 40bux. It's sportin' 3 strings & got a few donks on it, but with a li'l love, I could whip it into shape in a hurry... then see if I could find somebody who'd swap me an Epi EBO for it or sup'm. There's about a million other things I "oughta" do with that 40bux, but come ON... ya know...
Yep. I'm stepping on thin ice with this, def should not do it. But I do have work coming, and... and...

I came across a TBird IV in a pawnshop last year that I really liked. But I knew if I bought it, I'd still be looking for a VP...

You need to look at these cheap Tbirds as a good project not as something you might not use. A can of paint and some pups, a bridge maybe.... create something spectacular you wouldn't dare to on a VP or similar
Absolutely correct there! For me it's a slow process, but it stays playable! And who knows... I kinda like the look of it now.
I'm more interested in playing it- I think it's a pretty good player.

A couple more mountain ridges and you are into fire and smoke country. Enjoy breathing while you can!

Yeah, it’s sad. We have a gig booked in Redding. Not even sure if it’s still there

Those basses are popular with the cool kids, at least in the Nashville indie rock scene

The 'Ahem' was for @Kriegs , by the way... lol.
I figured as much, which is why I wanted to let you know that I wasn't gonna scoop it. I'm not the kind of person to swoop in and steal someone else's finds. I hate when it happens to me :sour:
I make it a point to swing through the local GC's at least once a month. The warwick one has an old Bassman head (that I want) that they have paired with a ratty old cab (that I don't want) but they won't sell me the head separately. I ask each time I go and figure they'll either give in and split them up or ban me from the store and then I won't have to see it anymore
That or I'll just lose my patience one day I'll just walk in, buy them both take them home, replace the drivers in the cab and turn the whole rig into a Blonde Tolex/ Oxblood tweed "because I can" piece :roflmao::roflmao:

I was just being kinda facetious... or something... but I never do that either!

Keep after 'em. I asked about a drop today, but "corporate" had already done a drop. It's kinda battered, but not far off the mark I guess- we are talking about used store prices. Daddy's Junky Music did the same kind of business.

Good luck with it! Hell if I had a flush scene I might even go in with you and buy the cab. I can always install a cab somewhere... unfortunately that ain't happening this week.
