Went to the yearly Greek Fest, sponsored by the Greek Orthodix church my wife used to be the organist for. I'd hit the gym earlier and woofed down a lamb shank, helped cleana couple other plates, and ate 2 lbs of hilariously Greek desserts. I'm sitting on a burm at the entrance, beginning a 24 hrs period of digesting... feel like some kind of alien going into a dormant phase after a successful engorging.
But, theae guys were just on, and they were killin' it! Wicked good playing: very Kletzmer-like, lots of non-four-time signatures, jazzy sounds. Whatever that stringed instrument is called, this dude was rippin'. And the clarinetist did some soaring, very nimble soloing. Fun stuff.

For a rig he had an old Univox head pushing a JBL wedge, tilted back and mounted in a roller cart. (Edit: not Univox, "Core... Instrument Amplifier") Beautiful sound...

Annnnnd... Kletzmer time! Only really just "Eastern". These cats were not quaint, they were really good. All they need is a proper rhythm section, then the keyboardist can play keyboards.

My poor guts... food was so good... I'll be on the couch tonight.
